🚀 Wrapping Up a Transformative 3-Month Internship 🚀 As my 3-month internship at LinkedIn comes to an end, I’m reflecting on an incredible journey that started with learning new technologies and evolved into designing, building, and optimizing a product. The experience has been filled with valuable lessons and connections, leading to significant personal and professional growth. Two key takeaways from this experience: Document Everything: Even if it seems tedious or unnecessary, documenting your ideas and implementations can greatly ease the process. It’s a habit that pays off in simplifying future work. Avoid Premature Optimization: Focus on building a complete product or code first. Optimizing too early can hinder progress. Instead, develop a full version and refine it later. A huge thanks to Clara Kurian and Shama Fathima for providing such a fantastic opportunity to work with diverse and brilliant minds. I always found myself learning something new through our interactions with these incredible individuals, which made the experience all the more enriching. Also, your efforts in organizing engaging events outside of work were greatly appreciated and added significantly to the overall experience. I also had the privilege of collaborating with fellow interns Vikrant Ramesh, Darshan B, and Gauri katara on a project using GenAI—a technology set to revolutionize the future. By integrating feedback from our teams, we created a strong product that led us to the finals of the hackathon! Last week, I landed an internship with EXCELERATE and was beyond excited. I shared this news with my ALX Cohort 5 group, along with the application link for anyone interested. I didn't think much of it; I was sharing an opportunity that had worked for me, hoping it might help someone else, too. A few days later, Caroline Kavoi from the group messaged me. They used the link and applied for the internship. Guess what? They got in! I was thrilled. It felt like a win for both of us as if we were all moving forward together. This experience reaffirmed something I hold dear: when you help others win, you win, too. We don't lose anything by sharing opportunities. In fact, we all rise higher when we're lifting others. Yesterday marked the end of my three-month internship at Krave Media, and I couldn't be more grateful for the experience. The opportunities I encountered, whether through networking or learning directly from Noa Takhel —the founder of the firm and the most hardworking person I know—were invaluable. Working closely with her taught me so much, not only about business but also about how to carry yourself and stand out in a competitive field. I still remember my first day in the office when she took me to a client meeting, just to observe and get a feel for the conversations. I’m truly grateful for her mentorship and guidance that helped shape my understanding and passion for this industry. 🙏✨ From mastering every feature on Excel to honing my conversational skills, I learned a lot during this internship. As a first-year student, it gave me a valuable peek into how the business world actually functions. I learned that you’ll encounter clients who ask unexpected questions, you’ll need to meet deadlines even when things go wrong, and sometimes, you’ll have to set aside personal needs to make your business a success. One of the key takeaways from this internship is the effective use of AI and various applications to their full potential. The team at Krave Media excelled in this area. For seamless communication, we used Slack; for managing LinkedIn posts, we used Taplio; and for tracking all our tasks, we optimized Notion—and the list goes on. These applications helped us stay immensely organized and ensured that we were all on the same page as a team. Learning how to leverage these tools is one of the many valuable lessons I’ll carry with me from this experience. Overall, my time at Krave Media was transformative, both professionally and personally. I’m leaving with not just new skills and insights, but also a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed in the business world.
