A lesson from the banana tree. When the banana tree begins to bear fruit, it needs support for the fruit to mature or the tree will topple over. The same applies in life and business. You are not meant to go it alone. You need support to thrive. So grateful for my current dream team in BambuSparks, as we grow to fulfill the vision of building legacy and changing lives. #bookspiration #WhenTreesTalk #successtips #transformationtips

Volunteering and Operational Leadership Volunteering is another opportunity to unplug from day to day activities and expand one's purpose. United States offers so many of these in areas of one's passion. Since last year, I am happy for the opportunity to volunteer at a spiritual retreat in Graham, TX, a couple of times a year. My thoughts going in were geared on thinking about operational leadership not related to the retreat. There are between 90-100 participants in this retreat with 60-70 volunteers. Every aspect of the retreat from registration, parking, cleaning, dining, kitchen, decoration, store is done by volunteers. I was the lead for dining this time. The kitchen cooks amazing food with a variety of menu from Indian, Thai, Italian and Mexican cuisines. It's a job that requires one to be on the feet a lot ensuring all participants and volunteers are well fed. I always live by the principle anywhere where "Processes are meant for us. We are not meant for the processes." One of the things I am not fond of hearing at work without further questioning typically is "It is supposed to be done this way. Here is a playbook/framework/<insert the next buzzword here>". The goal of every process is to serve the customers of the process. One has to constantly keep an active watch on what can be continuously improved. Dining gave me the opportunity to look closely at what else can be streamlined beyond what the team had already done an awesome job at prior retreats. The opportunity also answered by own doubts on operational leadership. Every leader needs to constantly ask the fundamental question of "What can we do better?".

In today’s world, raising our standard of giving is more crucial than ever. It’s not just about the act of giving itself but about the thought, intention, and impact behind it. When we give thoughtfully and intentionally, aligning our contributions with our core values and passions, we create a ripple effect that extends far beyond the immediate moment. Investing time in understanding the needs and preferences of those we support and tailoring our efforts accordingly can transform lives in meaningful ways. By focusing on impact and striving to address root causes rather than symptoms, we can contribute to sustainable, long-term change. Moreover, raising our standard of giving means embracing consistency and collaboration. Making generosity a regular habit and working together with others amplifies our collective impact. Sharing our time, expertise, and resources not only benefits recipients but also enriches our own lives, fostering deeper connections and a greater sense of purpose. Let’s challenge ourselves to elevate the quality and thoughtfulness of our giving, making each act a step towards creating a more compassionate and equitable world. Together, we can make a profound difference. ❤️💡

My Better Late Than Never LinkedIn Post! It's been over a month since I finished volunteering at EKOenergy Ecolabel. This experience brought me a lot of new knowledge and fulfillment, for which I will always be grateful. Thank you, Steven Vanholme, and the entire team! After volunteering, I went through a challenging period of self-reflection and uncertainty about my next steps. During this time, I felt huge pressure to get everything right and to find a way to combine success (whatever that means) with doing something meaningful. LinkedIn, with its constant stream of "milestones," "exciting news," and "new positions," made me feel like everyone else had it all figured out while I was left behind. But guess what? That’s not true. Most people in their twenties are also feeling lost, confused, and uncertain about their decisions. And that is okay. It's a normal part of the journey, and we need to give ourselves the grace to navigate it at our own pace. Now, I feel more grounded and have started a new position, which I will share more about soon. For now, I just wanted to address this overwhelming pressure of “successful success.” Can you relate? Breathe in. Breathe out. We will manage! #SelfReflection #Volunteering #LifeLessons #EKOenergy

There are many reasons why people choose to volunteer. Mine are a mix of giving back and being part of something bigger than me. Each year, I’m part of the organising committee for The Big Sing (I might have mentioned it once or twice 😉), and this year we had the privilege of hosting the Finale in Wellington! Twenty-four of the top school choirs from across the motu came together over three days to sing, share, and compete. The talent was next level! I absolutely love being part of this event and working as a team to ensure it runs smoothly, creating life-long memories. Our team of volunteers is diverse - spanning different ages, backgrounds, skills, and motivations. It’s hard work and can be stressful but working as part of this team is incredibly rewarding. 🎶 We share a common goal and never lose sight of why we’re doing it. 🎶 We collaborate, problem-solve, and are ready to handle any unexpected challenges as they come. 🎶 We value each other’s contributions, understand each other’s limits, and trust one another. 🎶 We support each other, strengthening our sense of community and shared purpose. 🎶 We make sure each volunteers needs are met. 🎶 We celebrate our successes, reflect on our learnings, and feel proud of the impact we’ve had. The best type of team. And we’ll all be back again next year! I'd love to hear about your own experiences with volunteering or working in a great team. What motivates you? What have you learnt along the way? #Teamwork #Collaboration #Passion #TheBigSing #VolunteersRock

🐾 Paw-sitive Huts: Where Compassion Meets Creativity! 🏠 We’ve got something pawsitively heartwarming to share with you! 🐶🏡 At Success Tea Consultants, we recently hosted our brand-new CSR activity: Paw-sitive Huts. 🌿🛠️ Imagine a room filled with laughter, teamwork, and the sweet scent of freshly cut wood. 🌲✨ What’s Paw-sitive Huts, you ask? 🤔 Well, it’s not your typical team-building exercise. Nope! We’re not balancing on ropes or solving complex puzzles (although those are fun too!). Instead, we’re rolling up our sleeves, grabbing our pliers, and creating cozy huts and kennels for our furry friends. 🐾🏠 🌟 The Nitty-Gritty Details: 🌟 * Big 4, Big Hearts: Our recent event brought together 270 participants from a renowned Big 4 consultancy. They weren’t just colleagues; they became carpenters, architects, and dog-loving superheroes! 🦸♂️🦸♀️ * 21 Huts, 1 Big Mission: Together, they assembled 21 adorable huts using sustainable materials. These huts aren’t just shelters; they’re havens of warmth and love for our four-legged pals. 🐕❤️ * From Workshop to Wagging Tails: But here’s the best part: these Paw-sitive Huts found their forever homes! We donated them to an NGO dedicated to uplifting stray dogs. 🌟🐾 🌿 Why Paw-sitive Huts Matter: 🌿 * Fur-tastic Team Bonding: Forget trust falls; try hammering nails side by side! Our participants discovered that teamwork isn’t just about spreadsheets; it’s about building something meaningful together. 🙌 * Sustainability Wins: By using eco-friendly materials, we’re not just helping our furry friends; we’re also giving Mother Earth a high-five. 🌎✨ * Wagging Tails, Happy Hearts: The joy in those wagging tails? Priceless. These huts provide safety, warmth, and a sense of belonging. 🏠❤️ So, next time you’re planning a team-building activity, consider Paw-sitive Huts. It’s more than just wood and nails; it’s a chance to make tails wag and hearts smile. 🐶🌟 Tag your team, share the love, and let’s build a world where every wag matters! 🐾❤️ #Pawsitivity #TeamBuildingMagic #DogLoversUnite Note: No actual dogs were involved in the building process. Safety first! 🐾🔨

Founder @ Eorte Brand | Sustainable Uniforms | Clean Tech | LACI Portfolio Company | Start-Out | Circular Economy | Climate Reality Project | Former Fashion Director
The Power of Leading with Compassion: Why We Prioritize Giving Back at Eorte As a leader, it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind of running a company. But for me, true leadership is about more than just numbers and goals. It's about fostering a culture of compassion and purpose, where giving back isn't just an option; it's the backbone of who we are at Eorte. That's why we offer our team 10 paid hours a month to volunteer for causes they care about. It's not just about benefiting the organizations they support (though that's incredibly important!). It's about the profound impact volunteering has on the giver. I believe that there’s a deep sense of gratitude that comes from helping others. It allows us to connect with our community, use our skills for good, and witness the positive change we can create. Those feelings translate into a more positive, motivated, and productive team. They remind us of the bigger picture, the human element that drives our success. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to lead a company that prioritizes giving back. It's a privilege to be in a position where we can empower our team to make a difference. What are you passionate about? How do you give back? Share your experiences in the comments! #compassionateleadership #volunteer #giveback #culture #Eorte
