As someone who is deeply passionate about safety in construction, I often find myself drawn to initiatives that prioritise the wellbeing of people on our roads and in our communities. Over the weekend, I was thrilled to read about a significant investment in road safety published by Roads Online. The NSW and Federal Governments have announced a $437.3 million joint investment in 230 road safety projects aimed at reducing crashes causing serious injuries or fatalities. The upgrades include: ✅ Installing roundabouts, rumble strips, and sealed road shoulders ✅ Enhancing pedestrian crossings and safety at 174 intersections ✅ Focusing improvements on both urban and rural areas These initiatives (part of a $518.3 million commitment spanning 2023–2026) will target major highways and roads across NSW, ensuring safer journeys for all. It's exciting to see such a strong commitment to proactive safety measures, reminding us of the critical role infrastructure plays in protecting lives.
