Those #NetZeroAcademies are one of our best tool equipped European workers with new skills necessary for the energy transition. Let's multiply them, notably across the electromobility industrial ecosystem! Member States should undertake a mapping of skills shortages for the energy transition. This should consider both traditional and new skills. That way, we can assess the needs for jobs and skills in each sector, developing tools to identify and publicise available training, and highlight those that need to be created. Based on the identified needs, measures should be undertaken by the EU - such as NZIA’s initiative for “Net-Zero Academy” - and the Member States to support existing training structures in Member States as well as to ensure that the trainings are conducted by practitioners from companies. https://lnkd.in/exuKgaj5

Be part of the UK’s first ever Carbon-Negative Data Centre! Deeside has the opportunity to pioneer the UK's first Carbon-Negative Data Centre, powered by local innovation and sustainability! The Deeside Business Forum is thrilled to announce plans for the UK's first Carbon-Negative Data Centre. This will utilise energy from a new biofuel power station and local solar energy, with cooling provided by the nearby water supply. It will be located on unused land adjacent to the Toyota Manufacturing plant in Deeside and will utilize food waste from the surrounding area to generate green electricity, gas, and heat. A leading Data Centre design and construction company is eager to invest and turn our ambitious vision into reality. They have reached out to the DBF for assistance in gauging the demand for Data Centre services and rack space. 🌍🌱 #Hydrogen is poised to become a cornerstone of our future climate-neutral #energy system, predominantly produced through #electrolysis. 👉However, around one-third of the electricity used in this process is lost as waste heat. With substantial global electrolysis production capacities on the horizon, we face a critical question: what happens to the waste heat generated during hydrogen production by electrolyser? 🔹The HY2HEAT project, funded by the International Energy Agency (IEA) DHC, is dedicated to harnessing electrolysis waste heat for district heating networks. To gain comprehensive insights into the drivers and challenges of this integration, we kindly request your participation in a brief survey. 🙏We seek valuable input from stakeholders, including district heating operators, electrolyzer operators and producers, researchers, and others. The data collected will be instrumental in shaping policy briefs and will serve as a vital reference for policymakers. ➡️Please access the survey here: https://lnkd.in/dTXjcAMf ➡️Learn more about the HY2HEAT project here: https://lnkd.in/dAGQiM-P

📅 Yesterday, 27 February, the European Commission published its communication on Advanced Materials for Industrial Leadership, acknowledging the necessity of these key components of the industrial value chain in reaching Europe’s ambitious #climate goals. The #hydrogen industry depends on various #AdvancedMaterials, for example fluoropolymer-based ionomers or catalysts in #electrolysers and fuel cell systems. Ensuring a sustainable and uninterrupted supply of advanced materials across the ecosystem will be critical for the successful ramp up of the hydrogen and other #cleantech sectors. 🍃 The Communication’s clear definition of advanced materials and the proposed Technology Council for Advanced Materials are essential for framing #funding and financing tools and for ensuring regulatory certainty and coherence, ultimately ramping up the market. 📈 Hydrogen Europe welcomes the emphasis on a coherent and substantial funding framework, including through a new public-private #partnership, that will help boost both public and private #investments. It is important that the focus is both on scaling up proven technologies and supporting less mature technologies and materials in the highly dynamic field of advanced materials. 🆙 “The Communication rightly chose a strategic #valuechain approach, recognising the vast connections amongst the industries dependent on advanced materials. We first need to identify and define which these key advanced materials are and what role they play in the #energy and #digital transition. Only then can we have the right policies to support or control their use. The presented strategy does exactly that” said Daniel Fraile, Chief Policy & Markets Officer at #H2Europe.
