Buckle up for more electric road trips by PowerCo team members. This time with Andreas, our Head of Communications exploring new destinations and sharing the joy of driving electric. ⚡️ 🚙🌍 Preparation: “No special preparations were required, all you need is Elli's charging card, which covers whole of Europe.” Experience: “Electric road trips are super easy and comfortable. My favorite features are great acceleration, lots of space for passengers, remote climate control and the small turning circle – quite helpful especially in narrow streets.” Advice: “Just get ready to recharge and hit the road! And filter for hotels that offer on-site charging.” One electric mile at a time. Andreas has been traveling electric for years now, on vacation or seamlessly blending everyday routines. His journey is another reflection of the ease and excitement of driving electric. #PowerCo #PowerColleagues #eMobility

#electricvehicles are great. Sharing them, better. Norway has been correcting some of the unsustainable impacts from subsidizing personal electric cars. Reminds me of the piece by David Zipper on how Oslo is changing it's outlook and favoring car-free/car-less city center areas. There's a better way to subsidise pollution-free transportation adoption. One that's much more cost-effective. How? 1) Make a compelling multimodal ecosystem more accessible (than private cars) 2) Leverage tools for journey planning and policies that give shared modes an edge (convenience+, comfort+, reliability+) 3) Transit systems have already started witnessing better ridership when collaborating with shared modes (than something like a park-n-ride) "...If we are to compete with cars in a way that helps us reach the tipping point to stop buying cars, we need to provide a “near-personal car” experience. We need a transportation system that offers the same or better freedom of movement without the inefficiencies of individual car ownership.” - Bernt Reitan Jenssen Read full interview here - https://lnkd.in/gvjqP5GM And David Zipper's article here - Zag Daily Movability Ruter As #sharedmobility #multimodal #carsharing #emobility #rebates #policy

Reliable validation that escooters are more climate friendly than cars! My good friend that I admire, Nils Fearnley just posted this screenshot from a report from ITF - International Transport Forum a section within OECD - OCDE showing Green-house gas (GHG) results from a lifecycle analysis of different micromobility modes. IMHO this could give a blue-print for how governments should subsidize e-mobility: 1. Private bikes 2. Shared bikes 3. Private ebikes 4. Private escooters 5. Shared ebikes 5. Shared escooters .... This is a rough, non-exhaustive list that *should* be debated towards also health effects and other shared and private modes such as emopeds, shared modes as car-share, car-pooling, DRT and more. When data shows GHG and health effects at often the opposite side of what consumers demand, comfort - shown in the price they are willing to pay for a taxi ride over an escooter ride that's again over a shared bicycle ride, we need to find a proper prioritization that enables correct subsidization. This also ties into the article me and Nils did for World Economic Forum about #publicmobility - how transit is integrating and subsidizing new modes of shared travel. Thoughts? Tagging some new and old friends I admire to hear your thoughts on the subject!
