Try the upside of kindness What a fantastic example of the kindness we can show to lift and help another. It’s not about standing out. It’s not about doing what others think is cool or popular. It’s not about politics. It is simply about seeing the opportunities around us to lift and help and support another. There are opportunities all around us, and we have the power to step outside of our own troubles and worries and act to help another. In my opinion there is very little downside to being kind, and frankly, those who would despise your actions are not those whose opinions will matter to become what you are capable of. The upside however has no cap. Each act opens your eyes to the needs of others. Each act helps to put your own challenges in perspective. Each act makes you more aware and gives you more opportunities to act. Building a kind and caring nature to lift and inspire others will make you stronger, more impactful, more compassionate, better able to keep important things in perspective and better able to contribute to all around you. Try the upside of lifting someone else today. Notice someone in need, even just holding a door, it doesn’t have to be a big act. Just do it! Then write down what you felt, what you noticed in the response of the individual in need, and how it opened your eyes and heart a little more.
