👉 Not all optical pH sensors work the same way. In fact, depending on your technology, your sensor may require different inputs. Our latest paper dives into TWO optical sensor technologies for measuring pH: RFM and DLR 💡 Polestar Technologies sensors use the RFM method. Learn more about the differences between the technologies and how they can impact your measurements. Read our new paper, "'Not All Optical pH Sensors are Created Equal - Comparing Optical Sensor Technology Methods for Accurate pH Monitoring." 🌟 The link is in the first comment #biotech #opticalsensors #pH

Join me for a talk on LIV characterization! Let's LIV together. #PhotonicsEurope #SPIEPhotonicsEurope
Upcoming Talk \\ Semiconductor lasers have become the light source of choice in many applications. IR VCSELs are widely used for sensing purposes in consumer electronics. On the other hand, longer wavelength i.e. SWIR are appearing and expected to rise. Do not miss the talk of Instrument Systems’ product manager Dr. Amir Sharghi at SPIE Photonics Europe, where he presents our complete measurement setup for LIV with spectrum analysis of SWIR semiconductor lasers. Hereby, InGaAs sensors with appropriate optics and electronics are combined. To learn more about the components of the measurement set up and how it works, taking into account the requirements of laser performance, register here: https://lnkd.in/dC-qC3en #instrumentsystems #lightingtechnology #measurementsolutions #infrared #swir #conference SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics

Additional Friday publication update! 📖 In this newest publication, the authors used the electrical capabilities of the #FusionAX system to look at the optoelectronic properties of fully processed red-emitting AlGaInP micro-diode devices 🔍️The quantum wells within the diode exhibited a fascinating behavior—they rested on a potential gradient until reaching the threshold forward bias voltage for light emission. At this critical point, these wells aligned at the same potential, a pivotal condition for efficient light emission. 📈Simulations mirrored these findings, showcasing the alignment of quantum wells at the same energy level upon reaching the threshold voltage. This alignment harbors electrons and holes primed for radiative recombination, facilitating light emission. ⚡️The application of off-axis electron holography emerges as a game-changing technique, enabling direct measurement of potential distribution in optoelectronic devices. This tool not only unravels device dynamics but also significantly enhances our ability to refine simulations and advance device performance. Want to read the entire paper? Enlightening overview article on THz applications by Marie Freebody in Photonics Spectra. https://lnkd.in/dW9rScrv Somewhat surprisingly though, TOPTICA Photonics, one of the most established and successful providers of THz instrumentation, has been overlooked. Readers might be happy to hear that TOPTICA’s THz systems overcome some of the limitations mentioned in Ms. Freebody’s text. Quotes from the text: “Today’s industrial time-domain terahertz systems provide dynamic ranges of >60 dB […] in a measurement time of 1 s.” – No, more than 90 dB in the same time if you choose TOPTICA’s TeraFlash pro. https://lnkd.in/dmMiP73D “As an example, the standard industrial sensor […] produces 2 THz of bandwidth in 1 ms” – No, more than 3 THz with the TeraFlash smart. Just talk to us! 😊

✨Exciting News!✨ I am thrilled to announce the publication of our latest research article titled "Capacitorless MEMS-Based Temporary Memory (CMTM) With Extended Refresh Interval" in IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices! 🎉 In this work, we successfully demonstrate charge-free storage using MEMS-based mechanical volatile memories. Our innovative CMTM cell combines both memory access and bit storage, eliminating the need for multiple components in a single-bit cell. With an impressive refresh interval (τ_hold) of 100 ms, this device can be used in rugged embedded electronic applications, making a significant contribution to the field of data storage solutions. I’m deeply grateful to my PhD supervisor, Dr Pushparaj Singh, for their invaluable guidance, and a big thank you to my brilliant co-authors Manu Garg, Mujeeb Yousuf, and Sushil Kumar for their hard work and collaboration. EXALOS Introduces New Ultra-Broadband SLEDs for 1510-1650 nm Coverage. The world’s leading manufacturer of Superluminescent Light-Emitting Diodes (SLEDs), has developed a new generation of high-power and ultra-broadband SLEDs with center wavelengths at 1550 nm and 1600 nm, delivering a market-leading power-bandwidth performance to support a wide range of applications, including fiber sensing and fiber component testing covering the well-established fiber-optic communication bands. These highly polarized and high-power SLED devices are available as 14pin Butterfly (BTF) modules with single-mode fiber (SMF) or polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF) output, delivering typical optical power values of 15 mW or 20 mW with an ultra-broad 3dB bandwidth of more than 100 nm. Due to their flat spectral shape, these devices deliver high and constant power spectral density (PSD) values over a wide spectral range. Using its advanced and automated micro-optical integration platform HOPP, EXALOS is also offering a combined-SLED source, delivering more than 20 mW of output power over a 10 dB bandwidth of 175 nm, delivering a PSD value of -21 dBm/0.1nm from around 1510 nm to 1650 nm with a single 14pin BTF module. A wider-bandwidth 14pin BTF combi-SLED with spectral coverage from 1250 nm to 1650 nm is also available.
