I receive numerous sales emails daily, each trying to sell products ranging from CRM software to virtual assistant services and recruiting agencies. It's common for several vendors to offer the same product or service. Every sales professional wants to reach out directly to decision-makers. Here’s the reality: a typical B2B buyer's attention span is about max 5 seconds per email. Because of this, I only respond to emails that: - Feel personalized, showing they know about my business and its needs. - Clearly describe a problem I'm dealing with in a way that shows they understand my specific situation. - Are brief and clear. - Show the sender is a subject matter expert. - Use a friendly, conversational tone instead of hard selling. - Encourage a real conversation, perhaps with a question or an invitation to talk further. - These factors are essential for getting buyers' attention and a response. I’m calling out all sales people - y’all absolutely suck at updating your CRM and that is killing your deals and causing business revenue struggles 👇 Revenue leaders have become obsessed with operations. It's the way to survive these days. 📣 The better the ops, the more efficient the people. 📣 This is causing two major problems: 1) If you aren't accurately tracking and inputting information, you quickly lose strategic value and positioning in your deals. --> Leading to slower deals, less likely to close, and sellers not prioritizing the right things. 2) If sellers aren't recording this information, then partnerships, marketing, and ops teams are not able to properly enable them. --> Leading to a massive amount of wasted time trying to find this information... where they'll inevitably throw their hands up and then y'all are further NOT aligned. 🤔 The BIGGEST problem here: Humans are not made to note down and administrate all things they hear because we simply can't focus on all of this information. Less clear value, increased TIME to value, a disorganized workforce. 📉 The implication: When unchecked, sellers will have shitty pipeline that no one knows how to prioritize or focus on, leading to missed quotas and even more stress on the business. 1 Depends what you’re willing to spend 2 You said nothing about the business so “ideal” is ambiguous 3 For my clients who have small sales teams, sell products and services and are in moderately complex sales cycles, the ideal stack is this: Hubspot + Apollo. And Clearbit acquisition is unlikely to change it. Pipedrive doesn’t cut it and salesforce is way too complicated. Salesloft and Outreach either have unfavorable licensing or don’t have the contact database. Reply has mediocre flows and data lacks quality. None has conversation intelligence nor robust buying intent. And I gave up on LNSN which pays for Apollo licenses. We went for Apollo.io after having reviewed lotsa options. But .. If you’re in transactional business then you may be fine without CRM; the functionality included in Apollo (surprise: they even have MEDDIC fields to get qualification criteria in place). Ideal sales and marketing tech stack? 1- verified cold email accounts finding 2- ability segment above ( type, profile etc) 3- ability to help write truly personalized emails vs just sending x a day 4- sequencing for cold emails, linkedin etc, calls 5- also allows emails to send to warm emails, clients using separate sequences 6- ability to use as crm or 7- best crm on the market that allows for data from outbound to be managed, easily from above. clean. easy on a rep. If you have an ideal tech stack please let me know. intent I haven't seen really work well, but let me know if that has changed and intent data and cold email accounts combo is better and ideal now
