Did you know this week, March 3-9 is internationally recognized as Women in Construction Week celebrating and promoting the role of women in the construction industry? In 1953, 16 women formed the National Association of Women In Construction to support one another in an otherwise male-dominated industry. And the movement began. According to Google, there are now over 1.2 million women working in construction. The picture of Rosie the Riveter and the words We Can Do It! come to mind. If you have a dream or goal that seems too ambitious because you are in what is commonly considered the minority, don’t be afraid to boldly step out like those 16 women did in 1953! Go for it! You can do what may seem impossible to others. You may begin a new movement. Never forget, You Can Do It!

🔨👷♀️ Celebrating Women in Construction Week! 👷♀️🔨 This week, we shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions of women in construction and the LBM industry. It's a time to recognize not just the hard work and dedication of women in these fields, but also the importance of intentional inclusion. Bringing women to the table isn't just about meeting quotas or ticking boxes. It's about recognizing talent, passion, and the undeniable "it factor" that many women bring to the industry. If you find a woman with that spark, bring her to the table. Give her a seat and amplify her voice. Let her ideas and perspectives shape the future of construction and LBM. But let's not forget to acknowledge the incredible support system that exists within our industry. To the men who champion women, who actively support their colleagues and peers regardless of gender, your efforts are invaluable. Your support is instrumental in creating an environment where everyone can thrive. And to the women who support other women, who uplift and empower each other, your solidarity is inspiring. Together, we are breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and reshaping the landscape of our industries. This week serves as a reminder of the ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion in construction and LBM. Let's continue to foster environments where everyone, regardless of gender, feels valued, respected, and empowered to excel. Here's to celebrating the past, present, and future of women in construction and the LBM industry. Let's keep building together! 💪💼 #WomenInConstruction #DiversityInConstruction #LBMIndustry #Empowerment #Inclusion. #mrslife #manufacturersreservesupply
