Tropical Storm Beryl has shifted its path to the North. The area of high pressure across the southeast subsided and shifted more to the East, which has allowed Beryl to curve. This now shifts the expected landfall from the southern edge of Texas along the Mexican border to Rockport, TX slightly North of Corpus Christi. Beryl is expected to strengthen over the next 24-36 hours back into a category 1 hurricane as it passes through the Gulf of Mexico. When it makes landfall, Beryl is still expected to bring hurricane force winds along the Texas coast and tropical force winds throughout the region as is moves inland between San Antonio and Houston. Flash flooding will also be a significant risk throughout southeastern Texas through the duration of the storm. Beryl is expected to bring 6-8 inches of rain along its direct path and 2-4 along its outer edges. Low lying areas will be at significant risk along with those areas along the coast. https://bit.ly/4cGOVwD #hurricaneseason2024 #StaySafe #PowerControl #WeatherWatch

Across Florida, Hurricane Helene will cause increasingly deteriorating conditions throughout the day today and overnight. Helene is currently a Category 2 storm, with significant additional strengthening expected before landfall this evening as a major hurricane in the Florida Big Bend. Hurricane Helene will bring the risk for life-threatening storm surge, dangerous to catastrophic winds, catastrophic to life-threatening flash flooding, and isolated tropical tornadoes to the Florida Gulf Coast. Potentially catastrophic hurricane-force winds are expected within the eyewall of Helene when it makes landfall, and damaging hurricane-force winds will be felt well inland. Widespread power outages are anticipated, and they could be prolonged. Florida public power utilities are ready to respond as quickly and as safely as possible. The National Hurricane Center urges that all preparations should be completed this morning before tropical storm force winds arrive and to heed instructions from local officials. #FLPublicPower #PublicPower #Helene #BeReady #HurricanePrep #MutualAid
