PPC blue celebrates three years of continuous growth and operation, having created the largest network of public chargers in Greece with a significant presence in Romania following the acquisition of Enel's activities in the country by PPC. With charging points now exceeding 2,700 in Greece and Romania, PPC blue is investing in the continuous development of its network of public chargers, also by increasing the number of fast chargers while evolving its services, creating a whole world of benefits for electric vehicle drivers and a digital charging experience in the upgraded PPC blue mobile app. PPC blue chargers use electric power that comes from 100% green energy. For the three years of PPC blue’s operation, drivers who have chosen PPC blue to charge their vehicles have contributed to saving 2.7 megatonnes of CO2. Despite global oversupply of panels and inverters, we are starting to see impact on commercial PV pricing in Poland resulting from renewed interest from residential consumers as a consequence of the government's announcement of the Mój Prąd 6.0 programme. https://mojprad.gov.pl/ An obvious way to limit this impact, besides acting early, is direct procurement (from the manufacturer avoiding distributor) and we are implementing such strategies already on larger investments. Clearly, as with earlier programmes, funds are limited and therefore impact may be short-lived (funds likely to be consumed by year end). Notwithstanding, expect to see increases in labour/installation costs as the slack is taken up over the coming months.

Google invests US$1 billion to build new UK #datacentre Google has announced a US$1 billion investment in a new UK data centre in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire. The 33-acre (13.4-hectare) site will support the #technicalinfrastructure the search company needs as it develops new AI-powered technologies and powers services like #search, #Maps, #YouTube, and #GoogleCloud. Separately, #Google has a goal to run all of its data centres and #campuses on #carbonfree energy by 2030. As part of that, in 2022 it announced a power purchase agreement with ENGIE for offshore wind energy generated by the Moray West wind farm in Scotland. The agreement will add 100 MW of energy to the grid, and put Google’s UK operations on track to operate at or near 90% carbon-free energy in 2025. Google’s latest investment comes after the $1bn purchase of its Central Saint Giles office in 2022, the 1 million sq ft. development in King’s Cross, London. In 2021, it also laid a new subsea cable — Grace Hopper — which connects the United Kingdom with the United States and Spain.

Microsoft signs the word's largest ever-corporate RE purchase agreement of more than 10 GW with Brookfield. The deal is 8 times larger than the previous single biggest RE agreement & would cost more than $10bn. 3 amazing facts about trends in corporate RE procurement - a. Microsoft wants a 100 % of its electricity consumption to be matched, a 100 % of the time by 0 carbon energy purchases by 2030. b. 46 GW of corporate RE procurement deals were signed just in 2023. c. This is greater than the amount of RE capacity added by the US last year which stands at about 34 GW.

🌏 Stepping closer to a carbon-free energy future with Google's 24/7 CFE mission in the Asia-Pacific region The push for hourly matched carbon free energy (CFE) in Europe and the US is stronger than in the Asia-Pacific region, where contracting CFE is difficult given local market dynamics and resource availability constraints. 🔋 In 2022, Google conducted over 20 energy audits at their major Asia Pacific sites, identifying 200+ conservation measures projected to save 5,600 MWh of energy. 📈 Making CFE investments in key Asia Pacific regions is an important focus for Google towards their global goal of 5 GW of new CFE by 2030.
