The competent bodies of the companies of PPC in Romania have decided to simplify the organizational structure of PPC Group in the country aiming at a more streamlined and efficient management, higher flexibility and faster provision of services. Specifically, as far as the supply activity is concerned, the two different companies are merged into one, under the name PPC Energie. The process is set to take place over the course of the current year, with estimated completion date the 31st of December, 2024. Respectively, for the distribution activity, the three different companies are merged into one, under the name Retele Electrice Romania. Google ads: what do you do when people just aren't searching in big enough numbers for what your sell or do? Here's the thing - people use search engines to find things they're already aware of and looking for. If they haven't already got a want or need to satisfy, or an itch they're seeking to scratch, they're not using Google that way. How can you still get in front of them with search engine ads on Google even when they're not looking for you and your products or services? The trick is to do some keyword research and then think laterally. Here's an example. Let's say you help businesses recover money from utility companies that have overcharged them. Do business people generally know that this service even exists? Quite possibly not, which means they may not be searching for it in large numbers. But they might be searching for "business energy tariffs", "compare business energy costs", "business energy suppliers", "eon for business", "octopus energy for businesses" and other similar terms and phrases which indicate that people are shopping around for a new business energy deal. For the purposes of this illustration, we'll use "business energy tariffs" as our keyword phrase. You could run ads like this: Looking for business energy tariffs? | We've done the work | 10 most popular tariffs Check out the 10 most popular business energy tariffs. Compare deals from different suppliers. Then send traffic from this ad to a destination (a page on your website or a dedicated landing page) where you duly provide a list of the top 10 business energy tariffs you've been able to find. But don't just provide a list, add some colour with opinions on the lock-in periods each supplier offers and other valuable insights - insights that show you know this industry and are credible. And, then, on this page, hit your visitors with this: "Looking for a new business energy tariff? While you're at it, you should consider getting a revenue recovery audit too. Business energy bills can be complex, and it's easy for errors to go unspotted. Our forensic audits find historic overcharges and then help you claim these back, ask us for details." 💥 BOOM! You just introduced them to the concept of a historical bills audit and dangled the prospect of getting some money back. True, it's not what they were looking for, but it's in the same broad sphere and they're obviously shopping around for a better deal to save money, so why wouldn't they also be interested in perhaps clawing-back money they've already spent? That, ladies and gents, is how it's done* when people are not hitting Google and perfoming lots of searches for keywords and phrases directly related to your offerings: you go after the tangential, indirect, but still relevant search traffic instead. This definitely works, but there's an important caveat to know about Which is: you still have to satisfy the search query being performed or your Ad Quality Score will be poor. Sticking with the Fifty2M example, if you snag traffic from the "business energy tariffs" search query and send people to a page where you answer the intent behind the search by serving-up directly relevant content (in amongst which you also feature your true messages) you'll have given your visitors a good experience and Google will reward you for this by helping more people see your ads. But if you use this hack to get traffic to a page that talks solely about your service and doesn't provide visitors with what they were looking for, Google - spotting the lack of search relevance and recognising that you're not helping people satisfy their queries - will see to it that your ads get fewer impressions, leading you back to square one. So, if you're going to follow this advice and think laterally in your keyword targeting, do it properly. If you try to cut corners, you'll just waste budget on attracting visitors who, as soon as they realise what's happened, will quickly leave 👍 PS - the historic bills audits / revenue recovery stuff is a real service and it's something Sustainable Energy First help with.
