We were delighted to contribute to GP Business this month with our feature on how apprenticeships could benefit your Practice. Long gone are the days where apprenticeships might have been seen as a second choice if your grades weren’t good enough. Now, some of the brightest brains in the country are taking a realistic look at the huge price of a university place coupled with the cost of living and opting for practical career choices, with the added value of earning while you’re learning. And, as GP Practices start to embed new models of care, there is a real need to firmly commit to training and developing staff while also investing in new roles. There are so many positives – training existing staff can boost morale and confidence while attracting new people also improves diversity and bridges gaps in supply.
