India will soon overtake Japan to become Sony’s 3rd largest global market in next 2 years In 2022-23, Sony clocked ₹6,353 crore from India and they are targeting revenues of ₹10,000 crore. At its peak in FY15, Sony had revenues of ₹11,000 crore from India but it fell after they exited handset and laptop business. Won’t be surprised if many of these global companies list them in India few years down the line just as Hyundai is doing. These companies command higher valuations in Indian market due to their high growth prospects which isn’t possible in their home markets since they are already number 1-2 here (in most the cases).
