Recall Notice: Paccar has issued a recall for nearly 3,900 medium- and heavy-duty trucks due to a steering issue that poses safety risks. 🚨 Affected vehicles, including 2025 model year Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, may have tie rod or drag link assemblies with ball studs out of hardness specification. This defect could lead to ball stud fractures, potentially causing loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash. Owners of affected trucks are advised not to drive them until the necessary repairs are completed. There have been no reported warranty claims, injuries, or fatalities related to this issue as of June 6, 2024. Dealers will inspect and replace the affected assemblies free of charge. Notifications to owners will be sent out starting August 11. For more information, contact Kenworth customer service at 1-425-828-5888 or Peterbilt customer service at 1-940-591-4220. Reference Paccar’s recall numbers 24KWG and 24PBG. https://cc94.co/46fVqnY #trucking #transporation #recall

Finally, the cat is out of the bag! We recently invested in 12 Peterbilt 579's, spanning from 2021-2023 models. However, we've been facing some frustrating transmission faults with these units. Unfortunately, every time we take a truck to the dealership, it takes days to even diagnose the issue, costing us thousands of dollars in revenue and a hefty bill due to no fault of our own. It's disheartening to see that many trucks built during the pandemic period were just plain awful. The industry blaming the chip shortage and other factors while raking in triple profits with the skyrocketing demand for trucks is part of the reason why we're in this predicament. I'm grateful that Mutha Trucker News brought this issue to light! Guess there is a recall on these units. My first stop tomorrow is the dealership. If any of you have been facing similar transmission issues on your Peterbilt trucks, please let me know. #trucking #logistics #freight #mechanics #breakdown #dieseltrucks
