Plays with Ansible playbook to make configuration management simple, flexible and scalable. 8. Have a keen eye to look out for tasks that could be delegated to machines - Automation 9. The following are the 6 main skill sets that we need for this DevOps role. All of them are interlinked. AWS: Hands-on understanding of essential AWS services (IAM, API gateway, Lambda, NLB/ ALB, ECS etc.) Need to dive deep into the mentioned services. (AWS Code build, AWS code deploys, AWS code pipeline, S3, AWS cloud artifact, Lambda). Hands-on experience with AWS ECS and cloud formation required 7 years   CI/CD tools: Only AWS native tools are used. Deep understanding of code pipeline (imp), CodeBuild (buildspec file), code deploy. These are services we work on all day along with cloud formation – imp . In future, Infrastructure as code: We live and work all day on CloudFormation so need to know cloud formation very well. Everything that’s deployed is written in the CloudFormation template Containerization /Docker: Most application patterns used here at the moment are API gateway -> Load balancer (either NLB or ALB) -> ECS container (docker build container image for Java or Python). The second pattern is API gateway -> Lambda function (java or python). Version control: Knowledge of any version control system will do, but it should be hands-on, working knowledge. Monitoring and logging (good to have): Understanding of setting up any monitoring system. How to alert if CICD stages fail etc. Need to have an understanding of at least one dashboard. Any dashboard you need to talk to it. We use OpenSearch/ELK and AppDynamics for now.
