The last 1,5 year has been a difficult one. I experienced more loss than I could ever imagine and not one area of my life remained unaffected. It's hard because when one is confronted with an amount of change and loss this big, it's easy to feel isolated and overwhelmed.
As Erin says below, "loss makes us brave". It's true, but throughout all the misery, isolation and overwhelm, it's hard to remind yourself that you are capable and strong and braver than you could ever imagine.
One thing is definitely true: it really changes a person and I can honestly say: i have changed a lot and I welcome change now more than ever, because it's one thing to go through hell, but it's another to stay stuck there.
Something that I started doing in the beginning of this year has changed me more than I could have ever expected, in the most positive and beautiful way. In January I started dancing again. It had been 20 years and a 30+ year old body, does not learn quite as fast as a 10+ body does. Despite the challenge of learning the steps and overcoming my own ego, I started to burst with energy. I started to change for the better.
Like Erin says below, there are 3 things that keep you wild and full of passion and for me dancing is all three! For me dancing is love, dancing is music and dancing is art. And I am proud to share that this weekend, all 3, again will come together, when I will be performing together with the other girls for two sold-out shows.
So, for everyone that had to be more brave for the last couple of months, weeks, days, than they had the opportunity to be wild and full of passion, I see you and you are one of the bravest persons I know. Keep moving, keep learning and keep taking care of yourself and keep sharing your stories, so that others know, that they are not alone in their bravery. 🍀
