Who sits at your kitchen table? That's a question I've been pondering deeply since my conversation with Dr. Froswa' Booker when Kerrin Mitchell and I interviewed her for the Untapped Philanthropy podcast. I'm going to link to the episode in the comments, but take a quick listen to this insight that Dr. Booker provided us. Too often, I see the same tired and reductive arguments on social media tied to the fact that folks who hold the power are well resourced and have no reason to question their privledges. In turn, we are becoming so quick to tear down ideas that we don't understand or have an immediate reaction to when we see it pop up on our feeds. I have folks who call me out all the time but also make it clear that they are invested in the world I am trying to build, not just looking to grind their own axes. It's a collaborative process and that's what I will focus on, not the noise we see here. Episode in the comments, this is a must listen.

Yesterday, we wrapped up recording an episode for the Daily Sweat Club podcast reflecting on our 2023 accomplishments. It’s always inspiring to set goals each year, but looking back and realizing how many we’ve achieved is truly rewarding. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve done: • Launched our very own podcast. • Kicked off production for an exciting new app. • Released more merchandise throughout the year. • Completed the Brooklyn Half and the NYC Marathon. • Upgraded our newsletter to better connect with our community. • Raised over $13,000 for Suicide Awareness with AFSP. Thinking back to last year, if anyone had told me we’d accomplish all this, I might have laughed it off. But here we are, and it just proves how powerful setting goals can be. We’ve got some big plans for 2024, which we’ll dive into on the podcast. But the takeaway is clear: set those goals, chase your potential, and watch as you surpass your own expectations.
