🔬 Various applications, including drug discovery, require purified membrane proteins, which are often challenging to obtain due to their tendency to aggregate. This often leads to low expression and purification yields, requiring specialized expertise and equipment to optimize the process. 💡A simplified workflow that removes the need for dedicated resources would, however, enable rapid screening of drug targets. ALiCE, with its native microsomes acting as a scaffold for membrane protein insertion, is especially well-suited for membrane protein expression. Deep dive into our latest Membrane Protein Application Note, showcasing the capabilities of the ALiCE System for producing high-quality, functional membrane proteins in just 24 hours! Discover how ALiCE excels in functional molecular analysis by: ✅ Successfully expressing challenging GPCRs, including ADRB2 and CB, without extensive optimization ✅ Yielding high protein concentrations of up to 200 μg/mL of lysate while preserving functional activity ✅ Efficiently producing membrane proteins comparable to those expressed from cell-based systems Ready to tap into the full potential of membrane proteins for drug discovery? Do you know which HCPs are in your biologic – and how to remove them? During the process development of an E. coli-expressed protein, our client discovered elevated levels of host cell proteins (HCPs). However, they did not possess the analytical data necessary to optimize their purification steps. Using LC-MS-based HCP analysis, we provided our client with a detailed outline of the HCP clearance in their entire purification process. This outline enabled them to document individual process impurities and intelligently optimize the purification process within a week. Learn more about how we assisted our client with targeted reduction of impurities in this case. 👇
