Fortunate to have the opportunity to hear james eamma speak at the Clinical Trials in Oncology East Coast yesterday. Clear Jim has a huge amount of experience based on his insights yesterday, understandable why clients of Worldwide Clinical Trials rely on Jim's expertise to help get their oncology trials in shape. Jim covered a number of topics that were interesting to hear about. Great to hear that Project Equity requires every Phase II to not just have a diversity action plan but importantly an implementation plan. Project Optimus is having a big impact on Phase I studies with the requirement to investigate a minimum of 2 different dose levels. More is not always better though. Particularly liked the incorporation of Optimus Prime into Jim's slide graphics. Covered IC dose escalation from 3 dose levels to 8 dose levels meaning an increase in the number of patients required. On sites, Jim made the point that in a lot of site network sites the study co-ordinator can be the lead. Important to engage the study co-ordinators. Lastly, Jim covered the advantages of using BOIN (doesn't need a statistician and combines different bayesian methods with dose escalation data) vs BLRM for study design Thanks Jim - super informative, looking forward to the next talk! #CTOEastCoast
