Navigate technology by finding the right pace... While diving into new tech is exciting, moving too fast can have downsides. Technology often requires time to get used to the new device or program. Some tech also needs more time to develop and test. Remember, it's important to stay in control of how fast things evolve in today's ever-changing environment. At the end of the day, think about what fits best for your company's goals and needs.

Class Assignment Will Technology Shape Our Future or Will We? TED Talk By Deborah Nas In the TED talk, Deborah makes a point that older generations see technology differently than we do as we have grown up with it. As Douglas Adams has stated, “Everything you grew up with is a normal part of the world”. Older generations feel unsure about technology as they didn’t grow up with it. At that time technology wasn’t a huge part of the world and most people were stuck in their ways. We started with writing, then newspapers, TV, and now phones that provide you with anything you need. Technology has developed so much over time that it can be scary for some to get accustomed to it. Nowadays everyone is so consumed in their phones that it seems time is just passing them by. Whereas years before people would go out and enjoy their time without checking their phone for a text. This is one of the many reasons older generations have been so concerned about technology. Once something becomes normal to you it can be hard to see anything else. A great point was made when Deborah mentioned that had video games been made first we would think the concept of reading wouldn’t be as beneficial. Instead of telling kids to read adults would be okay with video games as kids can interact with other kids their age whereas books are just letters on a page. Had this been invented first people would see everything so differently. As technology keeps advancing this will continue to be a concern. There will always be uncertainty and fear when something unfamiliar is introduced. We as a society thrive off of familiarity so it does cause us to worry and think of all the potential problems that may come. Technology is not going to slow down. It will continue to advance whether we accept it or not. If we continue to worry about the unknown we will only make it harder for ourselves. The only way to see a positive impact is to adapt to the changes. Technology is never going away, but we can embrace it and help it shape the future that we want. https://lnkd.in/gHqSy2XW

Not just the latest tech, tech that just works ▶ "Buy the latest software and solve all your problems" is a familiar but flawed narrative in the world of events, where we spend so much of our time. Through the lens of a fast-moving and temporary event, shiny things are exciting, but pretty far from tried and tested reality. The technology simply has to work. In our latest blog post 👇 Jon Squire considers what we've been up to recently. And how our twin obsessions - with attention to detail and bringing cheap commoditized hardware together with clever software - have shaped our progress in bringing tech to the market. Tech that just works. Read all about... 💡 Our project with Lightricity, funded by Innovate UK 💡 The granting of our third patent and what it means
