Is It Time We Rethink the Way We Hire Employees? Recently, I came across this insightful article (https://lnkd.in/eWc2ag9J). Strength-based hiring led to a 60% drop in staff turnover during training. It is all about uncovering what truly sparks a candidate's passion, beyond just their skills. It's a more personal, holistic way to find the right fit for a team. Being responsible for hiring at a small business, I've had to change how we recruit. Here's why I believe strength-based hiring works: 🌟 Natural talents matter. Instead of focusing solely on work experience and technical skills, we should be identifying and harnessing the innate abilities each candidate brings. 🌱 Promoting a 'growth mindset' is key. We want people who are eager to take on challenges, who persist in the face of setbacks, and who see effort as the path to mastery. 🌍 It's a boost for diversity. By focusing on innate abilities, we're not just recruiting skills - we're recruiting individuals with unique perspectives, regardless of their background or experience. 💥 The impact? A passionate, engaged team. Strength-based hiring can help us not only build a highly capable workforce, but also a team that's genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. Whilst navigating this ever-changing business environment is tough, I'm continue to be excited about the potential of really tapping into what people are naturally good at, rather than just looking at their resumes.
