In the dynamic and complex world of nonprofits, strong leadership is our compass. Let’s explore why it matters to us and how it drives our mission: Vision and Strategy: Our leaders provide a clear vision and strategic roadmap. They align efforts toward a greater purpose, ensuring every action contributes meaningfully. Relationship Building: Trust and collaboration are vital for us. Our effective leaders weave connections—with donors, volunteers, and the community—creating a tapestry of shared purpose. Adaptability: We face twists and turns several times. But our resilient leaders adapt swiftly, finding innovative solutions even in adversity. Measurable Impact: Our mission isn’t abstract; it’s about tangible impact. Our leaders set ambitious goals, track progress, and inspire collective action. Resource Stewardship: Our leaders optimize limited resources—time, funds, and talent—directing them toward maximum good. 🌿 SES' Gains 🌿 Galvanized Volunteers: Inspired by strong leadership, volunteers drive our cause. Donor Confidence: Transparent leadership attracts funding. Navigating Complexity: Leaders steer us through challenges. Empowered Teams: Motivated teams achieve wonders. #StrongLeadership #NonprofitImpact #MissionDriven

A seasoned C-suite executive with 30+ yrs of international experience leading insurance firms in the US and Europe | Executive coach for senior leaders transitioning to the next level or driving large-scale initiatives.
The Women in Leadership discussion went really well, thanks to insightful panelists Vicki Edelman Tate, Kathie Kreh, and Connor Lynch, and engaged participants. As the panelists shared their experiences, the audience felt invited to the real conversation, which continued in smaller groups. As I reflect on our conversation, I see several significant themes emerging: Women leaders feel more vulnerable, so they strive to protect themselves by being perfect, making no mistakes, and knowing all the answers. They are their own harshest critics. As a result, they often pass on opportunities, thinking, " I am not ready yet," especially in the early years of their leadership careers. There is work to do for aspiring female leaders, senior leaders, and the community, as we all will benefit from seeing more women grow to become strong nonprofit leaders. 🎯 As an aspiring leader, work on building your confidence intentionally: ✦ Clarify your strengths and leverage them in your daily life. Be who you are and stand for your values. ✦ Allow yourself to be human. You don't have to know all the answers, and it's okay to take time to make a decision. ✦ Find your people. Always look for ways to create a professional network of people to support your growth, challenge your thinking, and be there for you when needed. ✦ See opportunity in challenges. Have a "why not" mentality, seeking ways to make things happen rather than explaining why they couldn't. 🎯 As a senior leader, work on building a fair playground to promote the best performers and expand the talent pool: ✦ Encourage honest conversation to build systemic alignment ✦ Be intentional about recruitment, talent development, and promotions at your organization ✦ Find resources to provide support for aspiring female leaders ✦ Be a role model and drive the change. That was a great start! Everyone left with at least a few ideas and actionable points. Thank you Nonprofits First and Meghan Foley for bringing us together! We'll meet again soon. #womeninleadership #womenempowerment #nonprofits

Tomorrow is the last day that you'll be able to add your voice to The Local Government Leadership Landscape Survey for 2024 Tile Hill are delighted and honored to be speakers at TheMJ Future Forum on the 20th March 2024 in discussing Standing out to Outstanding Leaders. Local authorities need outstanding leaders more than ever before. As a leading executive search firm we speak to councils every day that are seeking better, more innovative ways to attract and retain the best talent. Not just from other councils, but increasingly from other parts of the public and private sectors. This 5-10 minute survey directed at Chief Officers within Local Government, looks to take a snapshot of the leadership landscape within local government, identifying your critical senior leadership hiring challenges. Building on the findings of the survey, our workshop and report will look at the progress the sector is making and share ideas to nurture, grow and safeguard your pipeline of leadership talent. We want to use the survey findings to start a conversation about how local authorities can adapt their L&D offer and employer value proposition, to enable both your authority and the sector to truly stand out to outstanding leaders. All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence and we will be presenting some of the findings at the MJ Future Forum on the 20th March 2024, but if you are unable to attend please continue and include your email so we can send through the final report findings by the end of March. This year, we are excited to announce that our chosen charity is Mind. For every completed survey, we will make a donation, money which will help Mind work to improve mental wellbeing. We are looking to collate all survey responses by Wednesday 13th March 2024. Find the survey 👉 https://lnkd.in/eK8bZ7UP https://lnkd.in/dJhBdUs... How will you ensure that your external partners reflect the diversity and values you strive to promote internally? As a DEI consultant, I've experienced firsthand the transformative power of diverse perspectives in shaping organizations that are not just effective but also equitable and inclusive. Networking and referrals play a pivotal role, so I always appreciate connections that open doors to opportunities and collaborations that enrich my practice and expand my impact. I want to thank Rebecca for her post on the importance of choosing diverse consultants. Diversity in consulting isn't just about ticking boxes—it's about bringing real, effective change to your organization. Here's what Rebecca shared: "Prioritizing diversity in your organization must include diverse consultants! Your organization's future is often put into the hands of consultants for strategic planning, hiring, and leadership training—yet, the consultants you use may not reflect the cultural competency, racial, or gender diversity you need." This is a crucial reminder for those in leadership roles. If you value diversity, let's start by diversifying our sources of wisdom. #DiversityAndInclusion #Leadership #Consulting #Referrals #Networking
