The gender transition process can be a long one, with stops and starts along the way. Over the course of that journey, it can help a lot to know you have someone on your side. That's why Premera's single-point-of-contact model helps transgender and non-binary members who are seeking gender-affirming care develop lasting, long-term relationships with clinicians who can support them. #Pride #PrideMonth #Pride2024

Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, IDAHOTB. Today reminds us that those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, Two-Spirit, or non-binary continue to experience significant disparities – including negative mental health impacts, unemployment, homelessness, harassment, and bullying. This important day of recognition is a reminder to us all that equality and equity is necessary for all. The CBA Sexual and Gender Diversity Alliance Section works to address the needs and concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and two-spirited people within the CBA: https://lnkd.in/ejHPHkYy

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment shared #equalopportunitypolicy for transgender persons and also uploaded it on their website. You can access the document from the mentioned link- https://lnkd.in/gPQputfX This policy complies with the 2020 Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) regulations in an effort to end discrimination, promote equal opportunity, and establish a working culture that upholds the rights and dignity of transgender people. The policy establishes a strong grievance redressal process in lieu of discrimination, harassment, and bias in order to ensure that transgender people are treated fairly. The responsibilities of the Ministry has been outlined as well, which also mandates the compliance officer to address the issues of TG persons at the workspaces. A celebrated move towards inclusion🌈🌸 #equaloppotunitypolicy #transgenderrights #inclusiveworkplaces #genderequality #moretocome #2024vision

How equal do you think our society is? Whilst an equal society is ideal for everyone living within it, attitudes both evidently displayed and unconsciously displayed can cause those of different gender identities, sexualities, ethnicities, ages and those who have disabilities to be treated differently. By creating inclusive cultures and spaces, workplaces and societies can begin to become more open to engaging with those who often face the most discrimination. Promoting diversity and equality is an ongoing fight that will improve the lives of many, and with The Collaboratory’s help your organisation or business can be a leader in championing social innovation. Author of the forthcoming book Raising Healthy Kids: How to Protect Your Children from the Hidden Chemical Toxins in Our Everyday Lives (Skyhorse Publishing), Chief Officer HealthyLivinG Foundation
Trans or Gender Fluid? 🌈 Understanding the nuances of gender identity can be complex, especially when it comes to children. The Human Rights Campaign offers valuable insight: consistency, insistence, and persistence are key indicators of a child's transgender or nonbinary identity. If a child consistently, insistently, and persistently expresses a gender identity that differs from the one assigned at birth, they are likely transgender. It's not just about occasional preferences; it's about a deep-seated sense of self over time. Moreover, children may not always have the words to articulate their feelings, but they communicate their truth through their actions and expressions. Let's listen, support, and affirm their journey of self-discovery. #davidsteinman #raisinghealthykids #didyouknow #booklaunch #toxinfreelife #healthyfood #healthyliving #PFAS #booksworthreading

Chief Executive Officer at Trans Youth Initiative-Uganda | Global Fund Youth Council Member | Steering Committee Member @Red Umbrella Fund | Board Member @Uganda Key Population Consortium | Pan African Feminist
Today, on Zero Discrimination Day, we stand united in our belief that every person deserves dignity, respect, and equality—no exceptions. Rural transgender youth, transgender youth sex workers, and gender-diverse youth are often at the intersections of marginalization, facing barriers that many of us can't begin to imagine. Yet, their resilience shines brightly, enlightening the path toward a world free from prejudice and discrimination. Let's amplify our voices to call for a world where every individual is treated as a human being worthy of love, respect, and opportunity. A world where gender identity and expression are not just tolerated but celebrated. Where every door is open, every dream is achievable, and every person is seen for who they are: beautiful, valuable, and irreplaceable. We must dismantle the structures that perpetuate inequality and build communities where everyone, regardless of their background or identity, can live openly and authentically. Today, let's commit to action. Speak out against injustice. Support organizations fighting for marginalized groups. Educate ourselves and others. And most importantly, listen to and uplift the voices of those who experience discrimination firsthand. Together, we can achieve #ZeroDiscrimination. Let's make acceptance and equality our mission, not just today, but every day. 🕊️💖 #ZeroDiscriminationDay2023 #EqualityForAll #TransRightsAreHumanRights #Inclusivity #LoveIsLove
