Excited to have attended the recent Destinations International Convention! The event was an excellent opportunity to explore crucial topics that are shaping the future of our industry. One topic that surfaced was cultural tourism; we discussed innovative ways to develop impactful cultural tourism experiences, measure its success, and emphasize the need for experiences that attract visitors from afar. The goal is not just to showcase diverse arts experiences but to create compelling and elevated cultural experiences that drive overnight visitation and support the visitor economy. Another inspiring discussion topic was strategic planning and the focus on “how”. Plans must have real, tangible outcomes. Everyone wants to see actionable plans that drive meaningful and measurable progress, ensuring that the planning effort leads to substantial and positive change. Connecting with industry peers was enriching, reaffirming that the future of tourism is promising and ever-evolving Shirin Jafari, MTA Mitchel Anzivino Michael Christensen Brooke Adamson, MBA Brisa Lee Brian Tress Bernadine Galliver Abigail Harrod #DestinationInternational #JLL #StrategicPlanning #CulturalTourism
