When I started in brand content, there was a client who would always ask me, "where are the numbers to data-proof this analysis?". By that time (a decade ago), I was all about creativity, and brands were just beginning to go deep on content marketing strategies. Today, I'm grateful for this client and other amazing strategic creatives I've worked with. They have shaped my thinking to be creative without ever losing sight of data (although, I can say my background in Journalism has also had its share of making me be creative in a more pragmatic way 🤓 ). Naturally, I still believe that creativity can't ever be overruled by the algorithmic system, especially when it comes to building brand storytelling that resonates with real people.
