Excited to share that I've just started my journey as a Legalisation Administrator at Argentum Attestation FZ LLC !
As I wrap up my first week, I've already gained some valuable insights:
Attention to Detail Matters: In reviewing documents for authentication, I've learned the critical importance of meticulous
attention to detail. Catching a small discrepancy in a client's paperwork can save potential delays in the
legalisation process.
Effective Communication is Key:
Whether liaising with clients, government agencies, or internal teams, clear and concise communication is essential.
Time Management is Crucial: With multiple documents to process and deadlines to meet, effective time management is a must.
Adaptability is a Strength: The legalisation landscape can be unpredictable, with regulations and requirements subject to change.
Here's to a fulfilling journey ahead in this role, where each day brings new opportunities for growth and contribution!
Just want to thank Jessica Munden and Isabella MacSorley for being so welcoming and patient with me.
🏛️I help university researchers 🙋♂️ get funded so they can grow their careers 🪜with the intention💖and resources 🪙 they need to thrive | 🗝️Former funding agency program manager | ☎️ Let’s schedule a time to talk 🌎
I'm excited to announce that I've gotten a promotion! 😃
Since I work for myself, the only way this was going to happen is if I gave myself one. 😂
I took myself on a 36-hour planning retreat earlier this week, away from my computer and phone, and had the time to work through my direction for the year.
Importantly, I also was able to work through what would be hindering me (subconsciously) from taking those steps.
My plans are specific to my business and not so relevant to share, but maybe some of you can related to the 'stuff' that can get in the way:
🔴 False belief: To provide the best service and care for my clients, I should be doing everything myself. 💚 TRUTH: Finding the right people to serve my clients with specific aspects of what we do together will provide BETTER experiences and outcomes for them.
🔴 False belief: Other people want the same things out of their career that I do. 💚 TRUTH: People want different things, period. Even if we want similar things, we may not want those things at the same point in time. It's better to listen to what others want and hear them out rather than projecting my desires onto others.
🔴 False belief: The creative work I do is 'obvious' and 'easy'. For me, the creative work is developing and implementing programs and processes to support PIs in a way that's never been done before. 💚 TRUTH: What's obvious to me is not necessarily obvious to others (and vice versa). I need to be on the lookout for when I may devalue that work, not giving myself enough time for it or not charging enough for that aspect of my services.
☕ Whatever line of work you are in, considering taking some time away, even to a coffee shop for a few hours, with a notebook, and leave your phone in the car!
Shubham Kamble, batch of '25, commenced his summer internship at Landstack - Center for Land!
This internship provides Shubham with an exceptional opportunity to engage in crucial research and fieldwork focused on land administration and its socio-economic impacts.
As a Research Intern at Landstack, Shubham's responsibilities are diverse and impactful. He will conduct a comprehensive literature review to gather relevant research and information on land administration, technology implementation, and their socio-economic implications. This foundational work will set the stage for his field activities.
Shubham will conduct fieldwork in the states of Odisha, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, India, to gather primary data related to land administration schemes. His work will involve both quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify trends and insights, contributing to a deeper understanding of the current land administration landscape.
In collaboration with his team, Shubham will synthesize findings and contribute to research reports and presentations, ensuring that the insights gained are effectively communicated to inform policy and practice.
Landstack - Center for Land focuses on the interfaces between technology and land administration, unraveling ground processes and impacts for more informed policy and practice. Land administration involves managing textual and spatial records detailing rights and territorial extents. Each nation faces unique challenges in land administration, shaped by history, social norms, demography, topography, and land use.
While technology offers promising solutions, the project aims to highlight the nuanced aspects of technology in land administration, especially in the global south and India. Implementing technology in Indian land administration faces challenges, with limited regions surveyed and few states possessing updated land records. India's diverse land tenure systems add complexity, compounded by historical administrative legacies and various tenure systems.
Shubham's project focuses on evaluating the implementation of key land administration schemes, namely DILRMP, SVAMITVA, OLRSD, and FRA, in the states of Odisha, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, India.
We , Regulatory Policy & Governance - TISS Mumbai, wish him success in his research endeavors!

I was once pushing someone to quit her job and do something she actually enjoyed because she really didn't enjoy her work, and had a passion for plenty of things, just not her job. She told me her husband wasn't earning much, she was struggling to give her kids what she wanted for them, and she just had to do what she had to do. I kind of knew early on I'd lost that argument!
Now, many people have told me that they really respect me as I quit my job and did what I wanted to do, but the reality was that my wife was earning enough for both of us and our child to live on, my parents didn't need a dime from me.
The thing is, going for your passion is a privilege, those that have this privilege are usually, well, the privileged, and what must be damn annoying is when we lecture everyone else, "hey, do what I did, just follow your passion". Life is not some level playing field, it's a lot fairer for some than it is for others.
So something happened yesterday night 🌛
As an Orthodox, in this Lenten period we normally observe midweek Lenten service and as a chorister🎶 that I am, I am supposed to robe👩🎓 for the service.
So it happened that yesterday I did robe, I just sat in the congregation, I saw somebody tapped me from behind and when I turned one of the stewards whispered to me that I will have to come work with them as a steward since they are short, I was like "me"? and he said yes you will have to man one of the doors🚪
Omo that was how my sitting position changed from where I was seated to steward position.
When I open and close the door for most people that knows me, they will be like, ah is this your work today?😂
After the service, the person that gave me the work came to me and said "you did so well please come and write your name so that you can join us". I just smiled😊
He wasn't even the only person that said that, some people said "this work fits you so well"😭.
It's actually my first time doing that work in church, aside my chorister seat nothing concerns me with any other department and I never thought I could do so well on that job.
If you are an Orthodox, you'd understand how tasking that stewards job that be😔.
This goes a long way to prove that we never know how well we can perform on a job if we don't give it a try.
As an individual when we limit ourselves, we can only achieve a little and may not know out strength.
And it is also a lesson never to look down on people's capabilities. Give everybody equal opportunity to try.
Sometimes what a person who doesn't know what to do needs is just a little push and you will see results that you never imagined.
Look for professionals to do your job is good but sometimes look below, the best might just be amongst those you overlooked.
