While it’s great that you have a strong immune system and rarely get the flu, getting vaccinated is not just about protecting yourself. It is also about protecting those around you who might be more vulnerable to the flu, such as the elderly, young children, or people with weakened immune systems. By getting vaccinated, you help create herd immunity, reducing the spread of the flu and protecting those who are at higher risk. Additionally, the flu can still affect even healthy individuals, leading to missed work or school days and potential complications. Getting the flu shot is a simple and effective way to reduce your risk of getting sick and helping to keep your community healthy. #bustthemyths #knowthefacts #mythsandfacts #flushot #fluvaccine #preventinfections #getyourflushot #getvaccinatedtobeprotected

This summer, #COVID-19 subvariant KP.3.1.1 created a summer surge in cases across North America. With the updated vaccine now arriving, CoVaRR-Net health experts suggest you get vaccinated this fall if you’re eligible, especially if it’s been six months since your last booster. The new vaccines target more recent variants and offer better protection against severe illness. Along with COVID-19, we’re also seeing whooping cough, mpox, and bird flu in the mix. Taking common-sense precautions, including staying home when sick and getting vaccinated, is key to protecting ourselves and our communities. Thanks to our Fiona Brinkman, deputy of #CAMEO, Pillar 6, Nazeem Muhajarine, PhD, FCAHS, Co-Lead, CoVaRR-Net’s Public Health, Health Systems and Social Policy Impacts, Pillar 8, and Cory Neudorf, Co-Lead, Pillar 8, who all gave invaluable advice to this article: https://lnkd.in/gPvwVaDw
