Fantastic evening celebrating the Techstars Space Fall Cohort! Our own Steve Massey, York Zhang and Gary Redman joined the event with about 150 folks from the space industry, and beyond! Prewitt Ridge is a proud alum of the Techstars Space Accelerator, class of 2021. Whether it is the partnership with the United States Space Force and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory or the fact that the accelerator is based in LA, we appreciate all that the program has done to build the aerospace ecosystem. Our CEO Steve Massey continues to share learning as a mentor, and we’re excited to see progress from the 12 startups in the new cohort. Great to see Matt Kozlov Sherman Williams II Kevin Noertker Colby Harvey. Special thanks to Matt Kozlov and Caroline Peacock for hosting the event. #aerospace #engineering #hardware

🌟 Meet Jacob Cordova: Co-Founder & Managing Director of Genesis 🌟 We've all dreamt of it. A place where creativity and engineering collide, where ideas can take flight, literally. Today, we unveil that very space - a testament to relentless spirit. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Jacob Cordova, an extraordinary mind from UT Austin. Jacob isn't just another engineer. He's a visionary. He not only spearheaded solutions for NASA's Orion Manned Spaceflight program, keeping our astronauts safe, but then went on to co-found NASA's very first makerspace, the aptly named "Engineering Sandbox." But Jacob doesn't believe in keeping innovation siloed. He built teams at Lockheed Martin for the Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program, fostering collaboration between rocket scientists and the brightest minds across industries. He founded Bright Yeti, an epic startup that is changing the world of agriculture with electrophysiology deep tech. His commitment to excellence earned him a place in the Academy of Distinguished Alumni at UT Austin as an Outstanding Young Mechanical Engineer. Jacob is the cofounder and managing director of Genesis, and his journey has been nothing short of revolutionary.

Absolutely thrilled to have met some of my amazing NASA SciX cohort this morning in our kickoff meeting! What an incredible team of brilliant, talented individuals. I am honored to be part of this group that will allow us to dive deeper into open-access science and enhance our science communication efforts. Here's to the exciting journey ahead for the next two years with these inspiring minds! Huge thank you to a few of the individuals spearheading this effort—Stephanie Jarmak, Brit Myers, Courtney Haun, and Alberto Accomazzi—for all the work they are putting into establishing this network. #NASASciX #OpenAccessScience #ScienceCommunication #Teamwork

What a privilege to be involved in New Zealand’s first mission to the International Space Station on NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's SpaceX-30 launch! Two months ago, sending my work to space was not something I ever considered. Today, my microfluidic chips are orbiting Earth. I can trace my involvement in this mission directly to a conversation at the 2023 KiwiNet Awards (afterparty). That led to conversations with researchers from University of Canterbury and University of Otago and resulted in this side-side-project with Vanessa Morris, Christoph Goebl, and Sarah Kessans. What a way to top off the last days of my PhD 🚀🚀🚀 #SpaceExploration #Microfluidics #PhD

Students at the University of Colorado Boulder's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics can train to become command controllers who operate and manage spacecraft, including NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Imaging X-Ray Polarimeter Explorer (IXPE). From monitoring IXPE’s health and safety to sending commands to the spacecraft to look at cosmic objects at the request of scientists, these students are getting a one-of-a-kind hands-on experience. https://lnkd.in/gru-mvj4

Just had the incredible opportunity to meet the🚀 WARR Rocketry Team of #students from the Technical University of Munich at #EuRoC23 and the winner of the 🏆Design New Space Award. It's not every day you come across a student team that has built the largest mobile #launchpad for #SRAD rockets! Spending days working with every tool imaginable, their #rocket project NIXUS was a sight to behold - as close to industry standards as it gets. 👉Fast forward three months from #EuRoC, today I had the honor of interviewing Greta Angela Giacomelli, Bernhard Vorhofer, Louis Wiench, Matthias Weiand, and Max Finkl of the 2024 team. Excited to share with you all their latest innovations and what to expect for this year and at #EuRoC24. There's so much to uncover! Stay tuned for a video interview coming soon! https://lnkd.in/dEY5fWSq For those unfamiliar, WARR stands for "Wissenschaftliche Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Raketentechnik und Raumfahrt", or "Scientific Workgroup for Rocketry and Spaceflight". They're a non-profit student group based at the Technical University Munich, focusing on space-themed projects. With over 200 active student members, WARR is Germany's largest group in this field. They operate in five subgroups: #WARRrocketry (hybrid and liquid rockets), #WARRspaceelevator (space elevator prototypes), #WARRmove (satellites), #WARRspacerobotics (rover concepts), and #WARRspacelabs (microgravity experiments on the ISS). Established in 1962, WARR was formed to supplement the university's theoretical education with practical aerospace experience. A perfect blend of theory and hands-on learning!
