Today we have excellent news to share. At Build to Zero we have been chosen as one of the 68 European companies (out of 969 applicants) selected by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) in their Accelerator program to receive a combination of grant and equity funding. However, beyond the financial support, which is very significant for us, the truly important and motivating aspect is the recognition given to Build to Zero as a #deeptech company with an innovative and distinctive business model. Being a #deeptech company means that we develop advanced and disruptive #technologies based on #scientific discoveries or #engineering advances and meet several of the following conditions: ✔️ Radical Innovation ✔️ Strong Scientific Base ✔️ Long-Term Development ✔️ High Development Costs ✔️ Transformative Impact ✔️ Strong Intellectual Property We created Build to Zero to contribute with our #ThermalBox technology to the decarbonization of #industrialheat. The #industry is responsible for 23% of global #CO2 emissions, and 72% of the #energy it uses is in the form of heat. It was great to join Cambridge Cleantech and Oxfordshire Greentech’s Clean Venture Day with Phil Levermore CEng MBA. As in previous years, there was a lot of valuable dialogue, networking, and interesting investment pitches. I had the pleasure of participating in the round table discussion focused on Retrofit Solutions. The insights, experiences, and ideas shared by the group were certainly thought-provoking. Together, we explored challenges for a large scale retrofit, a crucial step toward achieving Net Zero. I hope these important dialogues continue.
