Unify Healthcare... do more cross-hiring! Something I've noticed over the years in healthcare is a siloed approach to hiring. It's time for a change. Cross-hiring between Hospitals, Providers, and Health Plans could be the solution we've been searching for. Why? Because each component is crucial in delivering optimized healthcare. Hospitals are the healing havens, Providers are the compassionate caregivers, and Health Plans are the financial shields. They work best when they work together, but do they understand one another? Cross-hiring can break down these silos, fostering a better understanding of each intricate piece and how they fit together. This will not only enrich the workforce but also enhance the healthcare system as a whole. For example, a glance at my professional history might suggest a focus primarily on Health Plan roles, but my expertise is broader, encompassing collaborative efforts with clinics and hospital systems to enhance processes ensuring superior care. I also possess a deep comprehension of CMS standards relating to Medicare/Medicaid, stars, risk scoring, etc.. Despite this, healthcare providers and hospital systems often overlook my candidacy, skeptical of my ability to grasp their unique requirements because I did not ascend within their ranks. Yet, who could be more suited to join a Practice, Clinic, or hospital system than someone from the Health Plan sector, who directly interacts with CMS and is adept at meeting their criteria for high-quality, value-based care? Let's continue to move away from siloed hiring to cross-hiring. Let's create a healthcare ecosystem that understands its parts and thrives on its unity.
