#CelebratingTheUnsungHeroes Raghavendra Dwivedi's Journey from Graveyard to Glory In the grand arena of sports, we often celebrate the players on the field, but behind every victory lies the relentless effort of those working quietly in the background. One such unsung hero is Raghavendra Dwivedi, better known as Raghu, Team India's throwdown specialist. From humble beginnings in Kumta, Karnataka, Raghu's journey is a tale of resilience and passion. At a young age, he left home with just 21 rupees in his pocket, driven by a dream to make it big in cricket. Despite facing numerous challenges, including living in a graveyard for four and a half years, Raghu's determination never wavered. After a hand injury ended his playing career, Raghu transitioned to coaching. His dedication and unique skills in delivering high-speed throwdowns quickly caught the attention of cricketing greats. Former Indian coach John Wright and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar recognized his talent, leading to his inclusion in the Indian team's support staff in 2011. Virat Kohli, one of India's most prolific batsmen, once said, "Facing Raghu's 150 kph deliveries in the nets makes the fastest bowlers seem like medium pacers during matches." Such testimonials highlight the significant impact Raghu has had on the team's success, often working behind the scenes without much recognition. It is very nice of big stars like Virat, Rahul Dravid, Rohit, and others to recognize the contributions of these unsung heroes. Raghu's story is a powerful reminder of the importance of those who support and elevate the team from the background. His journey from a small town in Karnataka to becoming a crucial part of India's cricketing success is nothing short of inspiring. There are other support staff too who help India to be a potent force in world cricket, and I may write about them later. Do we know the background heroes who make us look good on the big stage in whatever we are doing & do we recognize them enough & include them in our winning endeavors? #Cricket #Inspiration #TeamWork #UnsungHeroes #Dedication #Sportsmanship #IndianCricket

Congratulations Indian Hockey Team for winning Medal in Olympic… India won 13 Olympic medals in Hockey and if we talk about cricket India won just 2 50-50 wc... Despite being 8 consistent Gold won by the Indian Hockey team why today Indian Hockey is not getting equivalent Fame and support..!? The reason is due to a lack of #mediapromotion, #advertising, #telecasting, #Marketing not having boards like the #BCCI, and other reasons. Many people think that a sport’s popularity in a country depends on that country's achievement in that sport, but that is not at all true. By that logic, kabaddi would have been the most popular sport in India since India has won all Kabaddi World Cups, but in reality, people would not even know Indian kabaddi players if the pro kabaddi league did not even exist. Even now, the IPL is more popular than the Pro Kabaddi League. More people are interested in watching football World Cup, where India did not even qualify, and even then, the Pro Kabaddi League has less viewership than the football World Cup despite incredible achievements in kabaddi. So, achievements have nothing to do with sports popularity. Also, the media plays a huge role in the popularity of the sport. The Indian media keeps on repeating and reminding us of the World Cup victory every year, but you will never see such articles about hockey and Kabaddi. #India #Hockey #Olympic #Kabbadi #Cricket

🏑 The Heartbeat of a Billion Dreams 🏑 Today, our Indian Men's Hockey Team clinched an Olympic bronze, reigniting the flame of a legacy that once made the world tremble. 🥇: 1928 Olympics 🥇 : 1932 Olympics 🥇 : 1936 Olympics 🥇 : 1948 Olympics 🥇 : 1952 Olympics 🥇 : 1956 Olympics 🥈 : 1960 Olympics 🥇 : 1964 Olympics 🥉 : 1968 Olympics 🥉 : 1972 Olympics 🥇 : 1980 Olympics This isn't just a medal—it's the resurrection of a dream which started its rebuild from Tokyo 2020 winning a bronze medal. Though not at the pinnacle but surely something that gives us a ray of hope that India can start dominating again in Hockey. Kudos to every member of the team, espicially, PR Sreejesh who stood tall, a wall defending our pride. This picture below also shows an uncanny resemblance to 2 of the major team sporting events for India in the past months. Rohit Sharma after winning the cricket world cup and PR Shreejesh after getting a well deserved bronze medal demontrating how much weight our sportspersons carry on their shoulders. Their resilience reinforces us that while cricket may be our religion, hockey along with other sports are nothing less. Let's celebrate this victory, for it’s the heartbeat of a billion dreams coming alive once again. 🏑🇮🇳 #PrideOfIndia #HockeyHeroes #IndianHockey #Olympics #PRShreejesh #RohitSharma #Resilience #IndiaStrikesBronze

Why Don't We Win More Olympic Medals? Let’s Talk About It. Have you ever wondered why we go all out celebrating cricket but not other sports? For example, when our cricket team won the T20 World Cup🏆, streets were overflowing with fans. But when Manu Bhaker 🇮🇳 came home with two Olympic bronze 🥉, only a handful of people were there to greet her. It’s not that we don’t love all sports, but cricket is like a favorite child, getting most of the attention and resources. This leaves little for other sports where our athletes also work incredibly hard. So, what can we do about it? ✔️Support All Athletes: Let’s cheer and show up for all athletes, no matter the sport. ✔️Ask for Better Facilities: We need good places for all athletes to train, not just cricketers. ✔️Talk About All Sports: Let’s share stories of all sports, not just cricket, in the media and at home. Every sport deserves love and support. It’s on us to make sure every athlete feels proud to represent India. Let’s start this change together! #Olympics #SportsForAll #TeamIndia #ChangeStartsWithUs #india #voice

💤 "Sleep Might Be the Cause of India’s Series Loss" 💤 There’s a lot of talk about batting deep versus playing attacking cricket, but here’s my take: Every time our batters stepped up with positive intent, aiming to score rather than just survive, they found success—especially in the second innings of both recent Tests. In my view, it wasn’t the strategy that let us down, but sleep (or lack thereof)! The players seemed to lack focus at crucial junction and decision making hampered, possibly underestimating the opposition. After the first day washout at Chinnaswamy, they may have doubted the game would go on, and in the second Test, overconfidence might have set in, with eyes drifting toward the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.Sri Lanka’s recent victory over New Zealand could have also distracted the team, making them less present in the moment. India doesn’t need drastic changes—just a well-rested, focused team ready to seize every opportunity. #Cricket #TestCricket #IndiaCricket #PositiveIntent #SleepAndFocus #IndvsNz

𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐡'𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐲: 𝐀 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 India's cricket journey in the Australia vs. India 2024-25 series has been one filled with ups and downs, and the latest development has left fans and experts concerned. Jasprit Bumrah, India's pace spearhead, has been ruled out of the 5th Test due to an injury. Worrying visuals from Sydney, showing Bumrah in visible discomfort, have gone viral, raising questions about his fitness and availability for upcoming tournaments. Bumrah's absence is a significant blow to the Indian bowling lineup. Known for his precision, pace, and ability to deliver under pressure, Bumrah has been a linchpin for India in all formats. His contributions in this series were pivotal in keeping India competitive against a formidable Australian side. The injury highlights the challenges modern cricketers face, balancing rigorous schedules and maintaining peak fitness. It also puts the spotlight on the importance of managing player workloads, especially for bowlers who endure immense physical strain. While the team will undoubtedly miss Bumrah's services, this is also an opportunity for other bowlers to step up and prove their mettle. India has won the World Cup and what a joyous moment it is for everyone Every big victory is a moment of celebration but it also brings with it many learnings with it, Let's look at some of the learnings from this World Cup victory of Team India * BELIEF : India only tried 12 players throughout the world cup, irrespective of some temporary failures from Kohli, Dube they persisted with them, this shows the captain and coach's belief in their team * RELIANCE ON EXPERIENCE : Despite a lot of talk around selection of Kohli and Rohit for this world cup due to their age and many young players in the fray, Indian selectors backed them as they knew the World Cup is a big stage and their experience of playing world cups and their big game experience will come handy. * FORM Is TEMPORARY, CLASS Is PERMANENT: Despite the form issue of many players before the WC, Indian selectors went ahead with players like Rohit & Hardik because there was no doubt in their class *UNITY: When the big stage came it was the team unity which became one of the biggest reasons for India winning this World Cup. Having each other's back, supporting each other was quite evident *LET YOUR PERFORMANCE DO THE TALKING : There was a lot of criticism of Hardik Pandeya before the WC because of his attitude, his form and controversy surrounding Mumbai Indians captaincy. Some of it was justified and some of it was unnecessary. One thing he did during this time was to keep quiet and prepare hard and let his performance do the talking and as destiny had it, it was his performance which was pivotal in India winning the match *SUCCESS DOESN'T COME EASY EVEN IF YOU ARE THE BEST : Rohit and Kohli are the examples of this, the WC win yesterday came after 6 WC's for Kohli and 8 WC's for Rohit, so persistence, perseverance and discipline are the top 3 characteristics which makes champions. * DO NOT GET PERTURBED BY FAILURES : India lost the ODI WC Final last year and that was very disappointing for the team and fans as that was the home WC and India reached finals undefeated, but the team, coach and captain didn't let this affect them in again working hard, reaching finals undefeated in another WC and this time winning the title. Hope we all apply these learnings in our life and professions and carry a World Cup winner's attitude in whatever we do #India #WorldCup #Champions
