I'll be honest, #SalaryNegotiation was definitely one of my weak points as a #TransitioningVeteran. For 30 years, I was fully aware of what I would make in current/future roles/ranks but as a civilian, I found it was up to me to determine my worth, based on my unique training, education, and experience. Unfortunately, there's no crystal ball that will tell you what you should expect for your first job in civilian attire, but this article sheds a little light on how to begin the process of determining where to start the calculation.
