Electrical Technician

POWER FACTOR MONITORING As an electrical technician, your responsibilities should include: #Regularly Monitoring Power Factor: Implement a routine monitoring program to measure and track the power factor at various points in the plant's electrical distribution system. #Identifying and Addressing Issues: Analyze the power factor data to identify any areas with low power factor and investigate the underlying causes, such as the operation of inductive loads or capacitive effects. #Implementing Corrective Measures: Recommend and implement appropriate corrective measures, such as the installation of power factor correction capacitors, to improve the overall power factor and optimize the plant's energy efficiency. #Maintaining Power Factor Correction Equipment: Ensure that any power factor correction equipment, such as capacitor banks, are properly maintained and functioning correctly. #Educating Plant Personnel: Provide training and guidance to plant operators and other personnel on the importance of power factor and the steps they can take to maintain a high power factor. By constantly monitoring and maintaining the power factor in the processing plant, the electrical technician can contribute to significant energy savings, improved equipment performance, and overall cost-effectiveness for the facility.
