LAUNCHING 11 NOVEMBER - JOIN US! The Gender Affirmation Policy Register is the first site of it’s kind that has been identified in New Zealand or globally and we go live on 11 November. This could be a world first innovation for rainbow inclusion practice and creates a new standard for organisations to step up to. The register will create a website for organisations to list themselves as having progressive policies. This enables Trans and Gender Diverse employees to ‘check them out’ and consider organisations with the supports they need prior to applying for employment. The register is free for Pride Pledge GOLD organisations as an additional value added service! We are excited to be holding our last in person meetings of the year in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown as part of the launch. This is a chance to come together to discuss learn, share, and meet awesome Pride Pledge clients. These events are FREE and open to anyone from a Pride Pledge organisation to participate in as part of our 'community of practice' or any new clients wanting to find out more. Register today for one of the events: https://lnkd.in/g-eBqk9A #pridepledge #pride #rainbow #queer #lgbtqia+ #genderaffirmation #gender #trans #transawarenessweek #transweek24

The gender binary extends to every facet of our day-to-day life. While trans and gender non-conforming folx set the example for living beyond the binary, cis allies can play an important part in dismantling binary gender norms as well. How are you committing to changing your behavior and interrogating gender norms in your life? The business sector plays a pivotal role in advancing the agenda for promoting equality and diversity. Much like the government and social service sectors, businesses possess the capability to swiftly implement policies within their communities. Collaborating fosters an organizational culture that champions equality and diversity, benefiting not only employees but also executives at the highest levels. Viewed from a business standpoint, addressing these issues not only molds the organization’s reputation to compete effectively but also aids in increasing the employment rates across diverse groups, thus making a positive contribution to society. As both an advocate for non-governmental organizations and a member of the business community, I earnestly aspire to witness a greater number of companies championing equality and diversity policies, particularly in our beloved country, Thailand. Such endeavors are integral to enhancing the quality of life for all members of society. #business #gender #diversity #genderdiversity #equality #BJC #BigC

Owner and Managing Partner at Direct Search Global, Strategic Advisor - Business Growth & Sustainabillity of Big Yellow Fish,
As a professional committed to fostering genuine equality in the workplace and beyond, I couldn't help but notice this curious attempt at promoting "gender equality" through a mini marathon. While the intention behind this event is commendable, the execution raises some thought-provoking questions about our approach to equality initiatives: Does setting different standards (10km vs 5km) truly advance the cause of gender parity? How can we ensure our well-meaning efforts don't inadvertently reinforce outdated stereotypes? In our quest for equality, are we sometimes missing the forest for the trees? This serves as a reminder that the path to true equality isn't always a straight line - or in this case, an equal distance. As leaders and change-makers, it's crucial we critically examine our initiatives to ensure they align with our intended outcomes. Let's continue the conversation: How can we design events and policies that genuinely level the playing field and celebrate the strengths of all genders? #GenderEquality #Leadership #CriticalThinking #WorkplaceCulture What are your thoughts on creating meaningful change in this area? I'm eager to hear perspectives from my network

Teaching and Learning in the era of Gender Wars. CREA DSROI/YALI EA RLC/UNTG-NTM/AFMA-FEMNET/iEARN-Teach Africa Teach Germany/KNEC Examiner
Just finished a fantastic course on Trade & Gender Linkages! I recently completed the UNCTAD Trade, Gender and Development Programme's online course "Trade and Gender Linkages with a Focus on Non-Tariff Measures from a Gender Perspective." It was an insightful exploration of how trade policies can impact women's economic empowerment, particularly through non-tariff measures (NTMs). While the course primarily focused on cisgender women, I found myself constantly considering the additional challenges faced by LGBTQ+ women in trade. NTMs, like complex labeling requirements, can disproportionately affect smaller businesses, often those run by LGBTQ+ womxn entrepreneurs. Additionally, navigating international trade regulations can be even more challenging for those who face discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation. This course has ignited my passion to advocate for inclusive trade policies that empower ALL women in the global economy. I'd love to connect with others interested in this intersection of trade, gender, and LGBTQ+ inclusion. What are your thoughts on this topic? #TradeAndGender #LGBTQInclusion #WomensEconomicEmpowerment
