Ahead of World Health Day this Sunday 7th April, Ramsay Hospital Research Foundation is supporting the theme ‘My health, my right’, advocating for universal access to quality health services and resources. At Ramsay, we aim to achieve better health outcomes and more equitable healthcare through high quality and innovative research projects. The eCLIPSE Trial, led by Professor Frances Kay-Lambkin aims to do this, through identifying the social determinants of health that impact on people's ability to access digital treatments for anxiety, depression and alcohol/other drug use. With the goal of developing a tailored implementation model to address issues of social exclusion, the eCLIPSE Trial aims to facilitate access to and uptake of digital health solutions. Last week’s OCHIN Learning Forum was powerful not only for the keynote and the 1,200 participants drawn from community health clinics and critical access hospitals but the shared learnings exchanged by members driving excellence, equity, and improved care. Fantastic presentations on eConsults by LA PINE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER around their demonstration with incredible results in expanding access and driving down wait times and similar findings by the Ravenswood Clinic Inc and their Stanford Health Care partners. Critical learnings exchanged concerning care delivery transformations and new payment models including value-based payment, many conversations related to healthcare AI (more on that soon) and workforce, quality reporting, and the challenges as we drive to data interoperability while data segmentation (in MD and CA) are front of mind along with the need to address cybersecurity. A great deal of follow-up left to do.
OCHIN members from across the country started day two of #ochinlearningforum last Tuesday with an illuminating presentation from our guest keynote speaker, Daniel E. Dawes, JD, on the importance of bridging social and political determinants of health to enable greater health equity.
