Building an Advocacy Platform for Patients with Chronic Invisible Conditions and New Insights for the Physicians and Clinicians Treating Them | Speaker | Workshop Facilitator | Seminar Leader
Attending the Patient Experience Symposium in Boston was such an informative and eye-opening experience! Some key takeaways: 1. Communication is key: Patients should be active partners in their care, balancing their wants and needs with medical expertise. 2. Listening deeply matters: It's not just about fixing. It’s about understanding patients' unique goals and experiences. 3. Take off the pressure to "fix": Focus on lifting each other up with continuous, gracious care. The visual created by @imagethink perfectly captures these messages. It truly is all about fostering a culture of care, love, and real connection between healthcare providers and their patients. 💙 On another note, I was one of the only “patient” attendees, which was interesting. And while the conference didn’t market directly to people like me, I found many breakout presenters eager to hear the patient perspective. I’ll continue working toward a vision where future research-based events like these include more direct patient voices in their design.
