Really thrilled as we welcomed Senator Pia Cayetano, the new Chair of the Senate Committee on Energy, in our Malampaya Platform last Friday! Thank you for being the country’s energy security champion, Senator Pia! The senator recognized that Malampaya supplies 20 percent of Luzon’s electricity requirements and plays a crucial role in securing the country’s energy needs. Senator Cayetano described her visit as “An amazing experience for me to see how things operate, and to meet people who do the actual work… I like learning from the experts and talking to the people on the ground. As a legislator, these are important for me to understand – the depth of our problem on energy – so I can help by way of policymaking.” Together with Guillaume Lucci, our Prime Infra President and CEO, we assured her that Malampaya is more than ready to meet the long-term challenges of the energy industry and reiterated our commitment to extend the life of the existing platform and to increase gas production. The preparation for Phase 4 of our continuous search for viable sources of indigenous natural gas is all set, with plans to drill two new deep-water wells in 2025, in order to produce new gas by 2026. The future is bright! #PrimeEnergy #EnergyIndustry #GasProduction #InfrastructureDevelopment Guillaume Lucci Prime Energy (Prime Energy Resources Development B.V.) PRIME INFRASTRUCTURE CAPITAL, INC.
