Beauty, skincare, and wellness are for everyone. But Black Americans and other people of color still struggle to find treatments and products that work for them. If brands in these spaces want to be successful, they need to be inclusive. Research shows that access to skincare products plays a role in confidence, and other studies show the variety of skin concerns consumers today struggle with. It's clear there's opportunity for brands to make beauty more accessible, but it remains to be seen how many will take advantage of it. #skincare #beautymarketing #skincaremarketing #diversityandinclusion

Have you ever wondered why your skin feels tight after you get out of the shower? Researchers from Stanford University may have found the answer. A team of scientists looked into the impact of external products on the outermost layer of our skin, the stratum corneum, which acts as a protective barrier. This layer shrinks when you cleanse and expands when you moisturise, and researchers believed that these changes send signals to the brain through sensory receptors. To prove it, they tested nine moisturising formulas and six cleansers on skin samples taken from the cheek, forehead and abdomen to track their effects on the stratum corneum. They then predicted how consumers would describe the feeling of these products on their skin based on how the reactions. 2,000 women in France and 700 women in China were then given the same products and asked how they felt after each application. Their feedback matched the researchers' predictions. L'Oréal Research & Innovation, which funded the research, said Stanford University's findings could enable cosmetics brands to develop products that are even better suited to individual skincare needs. #Skincare #BeautyNews #Research #Moisturiser #PersonalCare
