Primergy’s #EmployeeSpotlight Series: Meet Steven Estoclet, Commercial Strategy Manager! Steven helps assess project valuations for both power offtake agreements and new acquisition opportunities for the Commercial Strategy team. He has worked with utility scale solar, battery energy storage, and distributed generation projects across the U.S. for over half a decade. Which colleague(s) on your team would you like to thank for their work and why? "The best part about working at Primergy is the people. Two colleagues I would like to thank are Cameron J. Kaiser and Devin Hanel. They both welcomed me with open arms when I joined over a year ago, and were so helpful in getting me up to speed. Do we really need to diversify our income sources? 🤔 I was speaking to someone who worked in a large engineering firm🏢 And he didn’t really feel the need to diversify🤷♂️ But then the company he was working at was diversified in power generation, manufacturing, solar, renewables, etc. 📊 So if these giant firm feel the need to diversify their income🚀💲 What about us? 😳 #sidehustle #extraincome #financialfreedom #diversify #income

ALLETE unit to expand Minnesota fleet with 200 MW of fresh #solar. ☀ Minnesota Power, a utility subsidiary of ALLETE, on Monday announced plans to build two new #solarparks to expand its #greenenergy fleet in its home state by over 200 MW. The plants will be installed in northern #Minnesota and are expected to become operational in the middle of #2027. Both projects were among the winners in an open process from competitive bids in Minnesota Power’s 2023 solar request for proposals. With an #installedcapacity of 119.5 MW, the Regal photovoltaic (#PV) park will be located near #Royalton, consisting of 255,000 bifacial modules covering 800 acres of land. The grid-connection will be via a 3.5-mile collector line. “These projects will help move us toward our goal of providing more than 80% #renewablenergy by 2030 while working toward meeting the state of Minnesota law calling for #carbonfree energy supplies by 2040,” said Minnesota Power’s CEO Josh Skelton. #RenewableEnergy #GreenEnergy #US #Solar #PV #GreenFuture https://lnkd.in/gVH2Etty

When Jeremy R. Degenhart, CFA came to me in 2015 or so, with the idea of the first blind pool private equity style tax equity fund, we said we wouldn’t negotiate with the sponsors. “Just sign our papers,” we thought we’d say to the sponsors. We could say that, we thought, when syndicators did $5m, $10m but not much more. I don’t think we ever would have thought some of the biggest deals of the year could be syndications. Well, we certainly wouldn’t have expected a syndicated transfer Solar deal with PTCs. 😳 omg 😱! Until then, Brandon Audap and I would go up to the Hill begging for legislative fixes to “dumb” rules like the investor bearing half a second of construction risk — which was a fake risk anyway. Transferability and PTCs were solutions. Alas, the tax committee staffs and legislative staffs would get their feelings hurt for my harsh criticism of their resistance and say we’d never be able to sell credits. And, ptcs — taken away from solar in 2005 — were not coming back “because solar doesn’t work.” Solar works so well now. It’s amazing to see the evolution of quality, cost cutting and professionalism of the industry at every level - foreign manufacturers are making great stuff and now they’re doing it here. 3 mW isn’t big anymore (Edward Levin Daniel Sinaiko David McIlhenny). We don’t even have slaves in China. The industry is trying so very hard to be the best it can be. That is why solar (the forgotten renewable in 2008) is leading the charge in the largest infrastructure build out in world history. Wow. I’ve just deemed it so. Anyone with contrary evidence can have the same certification. Boy have things changed. Congrats to the Advantage team making ground breaking steps forward the last ten years. $590m PTC Solar transfer deal by a syndicator - the first true syndicator with a blind pool PE style fund. Tom Bitting, is this the largest syndicated deal in history? Massive kudos. Impressive, Tom Bitting Michael Sponseller Advantage Capital. Adam Constantinides Sorry to miss this one. Redball Energy balloons await. Congrats everyone. #eightbuffaloes #cheltenhamcapital #girlslikeus #eqca Carl Weatherley-White

Building projects for the power grid takes teamwork, trust, and innovation. When Opdenergy set out to build their largest solar farm in the U.S. to date, they knew they needed a team they could trust to get the project’s collector substation online for a successful grid interconnection. Beta’s experience building #substations in Louisiana and working with local utilities was just what OPDE was looking for. Hear from Jose Antonio Gil Segura with OPDE and Beta team members about how we collaborated on the Elizabeth Solar project and the positive difference this 140MW #solar farm will make for Louisiana once online. 💡Fun Fact: We’ve built Agile by Beta® Factory-Built Substations coast to coast, and the Elizabeth Solar substation is now our first Agile substation in Louisiana. #AgilebyBeta #FactoryBuiltSubstation #opdenergy #EnergizingTheFuture
