Our Department of the Enviroment Director Andrea Crooms recently spoke with WJLA about how DOE has reimagined combating illegal dumping in the County. Prince Georgians and our visitors deserve to enjoy a clean and beautiful Prince George's for years to come. DOE's hidden camera program has been growing more effective at catching illegal dumpers and preventing them from seeking to do so any further in the County. What do you think of this approach? It was a pleasure to join all of those who attended our Black Caucus Reception yesterday evening, hosted by County Executive Angela Alsobrooks and Council Memember At-Large Calvin Hawkins! Each year, this reception gives us the opportunity to honor all that the Congressional Black Caucus does to support residents across our nation. In Prince George’s County, we are on a path for greater prosperity, and our entire community will reap the benefits. Due to the steadfast support from our delegation in Congress, we are making major progress for Prince Georgians. I am proud to work with you all, and look forward to what we will accomplish together next.

This morning, County Executive Angela Alsobrooks attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Robert Frost K-8 School in New Carrollton with Prince George's County Public Schools. Education is one of our most essential investments, which is why we work tirelessly to provide quality school buildings for our children. Through Phase 2 of our innovative Alternative Construction Program, we’ve broken ground on 8 new schools, furthering our commitment to our young people. It is a Proud Priority of the Alsobrooks Administration to deliver the types of learning environments our students deserve. 23 years ago today, nearly 3,000 American lives were lost in a devastating act of terrorism on our country. We join the nation in recognizing Patriot Day in honor of the fallen and the fighters. Let us all take a moment to remember and honor those who lost their lives as well as the heroic efforts of the first responders and law enforcement personnel who put their lives on the line to save so many others.

The new FBI Headquarters coming to Greenbelt is an economic win for Maryland and will be a transformative time for Prince Georgians! Governor Wes Moore knows the positive impacts this relocation will have on Prince Georgians, Marylanders, our economy, and the long-term federal job opportunities for generations to come. Because of the tireless work of Team Maryland, from County Executive Angela Alsobrooks to Gov. Wes Moore and our other state and federal delegation partners, 7,500 jobs will be brought to Greenbelt and we can anticipate billions of dollars in economic activity.
