I can sense if your company is in it for the long haul. Spoiler: your corporate party may spill the beans about it. Take a good look at your organization: - Is there something else binding your team together beyond paychecks? - Do your partners and clients appreciate you not solely for your services or products? It's about company values that attract community beyond contracts, growing the brand's impact, and creating a lasting organizational story. Back to the parties: consider turning your private celebration into a mini open day, and it'll stick in the hearts of your colleagues. For our party, I invited everybody somehow connected to the company: teammates with +1, partners, colleagues from other companies, our lawyer, and our gym coach. We believe you don't have to be a team citizen to be a me.develop resident. It simply means sharing our values, like simplicity in communication and a playful work atmosphere. To me, growing your company isn't just about expanding your internal crew but also broadening your outer 'support group' to open up more opportunities. A joint celebration can strengthen your community and boost brand loyalty through word of mouth. Check out how we had a blast with our community! How were your corporate parties? #medevelopstudio #corporateparties #community #colleagues #company #opportunities

📢 ANNOUNCING MAY EVENTS! 📢 Whether it’s from memories on the schoolyard, from inequity in the workplace, or the relationships you hold close, you know we have major challenges to overcome if we're going to become a gender-equitable society. So if you’re committed—or if you’re curious—there is a place for you in the Next Gen Men community. We facilitate online and in-person events for people of all genders and backgrounds to unpack how masculinity is evolving, how we can show up as allies and stakeholders, and how we can have healthy relationships with ourselves and others. If you leave with just one idea that stays with you, that’s a win. If you walk away with a feeling of connection, that’s a double-win. If you keep your connections and ideas in motion long after the event wraps up, that’s transformation. Join us this month! Agile Coach // Founder @ Starizon & Beyond (Building a different life coaching experience) // Aspiring Author (Book In Progress) // Ideator & Experimenter // Ex-Management Consultant
When I was more intentional in building a professional network, I volunteered to help out at a #networking event hosted by an industry body. As a volunteer, my responsibilities were mostly around the event registration booth: 🔹Preparing name tags for event speakers and attendees 🔹Marking guests' attendance 🔹Ushering guests into the venue hall to find their designated seats etc. It was a good way of pre-networking with the event organizing team, and the VIPs too; right before the event began. --- I kept helping out for a couple more events hosted by the same organization, for the rest of that year. In the process, I got more comfortable with my networking style too! 😉 --- And then an opportunity came up for me to join one of their sub-committees as a Co-Chair! I took the opportunity. Because I was ready to take on more planning and execution responsibilities; and share my networking tips with others. --- 💡 If you ever want to be involved in a professional capacity outside of your current school/organization, I strongly encourage you to start with #volunteering. 🫶🏻 You can always work your way in, and up. 🎢

Chief Puzzle Solver at Travel Staff - Exceptional recruitment and executive search services for the travel industry in North America.
For 35 years I have managed travel industry associations and membership based associations/clubs. What have I learned during this time? Nothing has changed. Sure, communication is easier. Automation has improved registrations and payments for events. But people are exactly the same. 20% do 80% of the work. To harness volunteer work you need to communicate a sense of purpose. Members love to be recognized. Not just for who they are but for their accomplishments. Managing a board of A-Type personalities is a challenge but worth the effort. A-Type people tell you how they feel. You don’t always agree and nor should you. By discussing and massaging an issue it is possible to find consensus. Thus establishing best practices and implementing what is best for the membership. Bullies and naysayers need to be put in their place immediately. You make life long friendships by volunteering. And then there are committees that come together like perfection - where everybody works well together - where people are putting the welfare of each other and the membership first - and I have to say that working with my colleagues on Prost New York City’s executive board is one such case. (Finally, thank you to Elizabeth Rich for teaching more than anyone else.)

‘Slow Down’ & think! As An Garda Síochána launch their ‘Slow Down’ day as a result of recent road tragedies, it reminds us that ‘slowing down’ can be a useful action to take in many aspects of our lives. Oftentimes it takes sickness or an injury to force us to slow down. In which case we then evaluate and analyse what we could have done to prevent the situation from happening. 🕒 Have you taken time to ‘slow down’ at work in order to evaluate and analyse issues that need resolving or situations that need attention? 🕒 Have you taken the time to evaluate how your company is performing? 🕒 Have you noted areas or activities that your team is struggling with? Prevention is always better than cure! A team building workshop is a great way to encourage open communication and reflect on individual and team strengths and weaknesses to bring your company to it's full potential! These activities are not only fun but also help strengthen teamwork and communication among colleagues. + Volunteer Day: Give back to the community by organizing a volunteer day where your team can participate in local charity events or environmental clean-up projects. It's a great way to promote a sense of social responsibility within your company. + Sports Day: Organize a friendly sports tournament such as soccer, volleyball, or even a relay race. It's a great way to encourage teamwork, boost morale, and get everyone moving and active. + Cultural Outing: Explore the cultural side of your city by organizing a trip to a museum, art gallery, or historical landmark. It's a great way to bond with colleagues while appreciating the arts and history.
