Today we mark a milestone at Principal Financial Group, our 145th anniversary. For nearly a century and a half the people of this great company have put their talent, enthusiasm, and heart to work for our customers, helping everyday people build financial security. Each of us at Principal is fortunate to be part of a tremendous #legacy. We get to do work that is truly meaningful for individuals, families, and business owners in our communities. And we do it alongside terrific co-workers who are committed to doing the right things in the right way. We owe a debt of thanks to all the Principal employees who have come before us, and we owe it to future generations to be good stewards of what we’ve inherited and to make our time here count. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Happy 145th Anniversary (and counting), team Principal!

Did some “research” for fun… According to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), around 66% of all new businesses make it to the two-year mark, and only half of all companies survive past five years. Making it 145 is amazing! Other iconic brands around when Principal was first starting out… JPM, Colgate, Proctor and Gamble, GE

3moHappy anniversary to Principal! It was my privilege to work there for 35 years. Plus, I'm a decades-long customer who benefits from Principal's great products and services and the work done by the wonderfully talented people who make the company successful. This company anniversary also means it was 20 years ago that Principal sent several employees and their guest to the NYSE closing bell ceremony. I was one of the fortunate trip winners. The attached picture was taken in the "History Hall" before the campus renovation. I'm on the far right twice in this picture. What will the company do for its 150th?
