Recognition of Prior Learning’s Post

Jack Cooney is a highly respected figure in the GAA, having made a significant impact both as a player and as former Westmeath senior football manager. In this video from the University of Limerick, Jack shares his Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Journey, highlighting how #RPL allowed him to leverage his accumulated knowledge and practical experience in coaching and sports science to gain entry to a Masters in Sports Development at the University of Limerick. Since completing the course, he has coached at a high level within the #GAA and is working full-time as the National Player Development Lead for the GAA. Although it was challenging returning to education, Jack received great support from the university and from his fellow students. This is another great example of the practical benefits of RPL and how it can help individuals to get on a pathway to high education by recognising their everyday learning and give it the value it deserves.
