Hello LinkedIn network, Today, I want to share a #throwbackmoment from my ‘Pivot to Product Management’ course with ProductDive. This journey hasn’t been without its challenges, but the support and encouragement I’ve received have made all the difference. During the course, there were times when I struggled to keep up with the assignments. One memorable instance was when my success coordinator, Deborah, reminded me about my late submissions and offered assistance. Her consistent support and gentle nudges were crucial in keeping me on track. Lesson Learned: - Accountability Matters: Having someone to hold you accountable can significantly impact your progress. Deborah’s reminders ensured I stayed focused and didn’t fall behind. - Don’t Hesitate to Seek Help: It’s okay to ask for help when you’re struggling. The support from mentors and peers can provide the guidance you need to overcome obstacles. - Persistence is Key: Despite the setbacks, persistence and dedication are essential. Pushing through the tough times has made the achievements even more rewarding. Thank you, Deborah, for your unwavering support! Looking forward to sharing my final reflections tomorrow. #PivotToProductManagement #LearningJourney #ProductManagement #Throwback #Persistence #CareerAdvice #LinkedInChallenge #Day4 #ProductDive

Throwback Thursdays have a knack for triggering reflections and stirring up feelings of nostalgia, often leading to a sense of gratitude. I'd like to recount a throwback moment from my PPM training at ProductDive It occurred when Tosin Dada-phillips, my student success left me with profoundly encouraging feedback. Despite her not needing to say anything, those words provided a much-needed boost. Amidst moments of overwhelm, her voice persisted in my mind, for which I am deeply grateful. #ThrowbackThursday #5daysLinkedInchallenge #productmanagement #productdive #product

In the Product Management org at LinkedIn , we organize and run PM circles- organized group sessions either on general topics or a very specific topic (like working parents, managers, or by level). Run by the awesome and thoughtful Chris Hatfield and staffed by volunteer PMs from across the company. After joining as a participant I decided to 🙋♀️ to lead- but with a twist- it would be mostly in person and at an EST friendly morning time, once a month, as I had a hypothesis that others may be looking for a connection opportunity at a time when we could be fully present. For those of you who, like me, have weighed the manager vs IC tracks, I have some advice - it doesn't have to be an all or nothing decision. Consider volunteering for a group experience in addition to 1:1 mentoring. Have you led something similar in your industry or area? Or joined as a participant? What did you like most about it, or wish would have been different?
