SpaceX's vision (video is from 2016) ignited a lightbulb moment! I finally grasped the essence of product/business vision and what makes it truly impactful.

Often denigrated or questioned, but what an accomplishment since the beginning of the starship project. The perfect demonstration of development by iteration at its true value.
The interview is gripping.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX is making strides toward achieving its ambitious goal of colonizing Mars with the Starship mega-rocket.
SpaceX is gearing up for the third full-scale Starship test flight after successful tests. Musk envisions mass production, suggesting the need for 100 to 300 Starships annually to facilitate regular Earth-Mars flights.
This scale is reminiscent of Boeing’s annual production of about 300 of its bestselling 737 aircraft over the last three decades.
While challenges remain, such as in-space refueling and reusability, Musk’s vision aligns with making rocket travel as routine as air travel, ultimately realizing a human settlement on Mars in about three decades.
What's that in the sky?
It's a bird, it's a plane, it's... the largest and most powerful man made flying object in history!
Today, SpaceX conducted the fourth test flight of the Starship rocket.
The flight was full of drama as the rocket was pushed to its engineering limits; but ultimately ended successfully when both stages completed a virtual touch down into the ocean.
I am inspired at the amazing things that scientists, engineers, and technicians can accomplish when we all work toward a common goal.
While there are still many improvements to be made, including perfecting rapid reusability, Starship captures my imagination for the future of space travel.
Today, humanity took another step forward in our journey to the stars.
Here is a short video showing highlights from the 1 hour flight of Starship.
Great shots the rocket landing on the ocean, plasma coating the hull of the ship, and a stabilizer nearly melting off the ship's side as it re-entered the atmosphere.

(via a highly unscientific survey)... >75% of the news headlines covering today's SpaceX#starship test flight share a theme:
..."FAA to oversee SpaceX-led investigation into Starship mishap"
..."SpaceX Starship makes successful test flight but is lost during re-entry"
..."SpaceX ship reaches space but ends in fireball"
..."SpaceX's Starship rocket 'lost' during re-entry"
..."SpaceX loses Starship on reentry over Indian Ocean"
..."Oops! We Lost Our Mega Rocket Ship, Says SpaceX"
..."SpaceX Starship disintegrates after completing most of third test flight"
I know failures, disasters, and schadenfreude are excellent click bait - but lets all raise our reporting standards and try to positively educate via the news: Compared to every other orbital launch ever (except Falcon 9) this has been a smashing success - they reached the target orbit.
SpaceX only failed when compared to themselves (e.g. Falcon 9). Today they successfully flew the *largest* human-made object to orbit!
...this is literally what success looks like 🔥🔥🔥
FAA Concludes Investigation into SpaceX's Starship Mishap: Urgent Fixes Await Liftoff
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has wrapped up its probe into SpaceX's Starship's dramatic second flight, but that doesn't mean it's ready for liftoff number three just yet. Despite the investigation's end, SpaceX has to make some fixes and get a thumbs-up from the FAA before launching again.
The review uncovered 17 things that need correcting, including hardware tweaks and updates to control systems.
SpaceX's Starship is a massive rocket designed for ambitious missions to the Moon and Mars, but it's grounded until all safety concerns are addressed. So, for now, it's back to the drawing board for Elon Musk's space company.
