#AI, Ulta beauty has invested in an AI hair care technology company Ulta Beauty’s digital innovation fund Prisma has invested in Myavana, a beauty-tech business that uses AI hair care technology. Tech entrepreneur and founder Candace Mitchell Harris developed the technology in 2012 to analyze the variables of hair strands and hair products to produce personalized hair care plans meant to support healthy hair and hair growth. As a component of the strategic partnership, Ulta has unveiled a new Virtual Hair Analysis tool, which integrates Myavana’s technology and enables consumers to gain a comprehensive understanding of their hair type and receive personalized product recommendations. It’s more than ‘just hair’ — As the son of a hairdresser who owned & operated Sheila’s Beauty Salon in Agincourt, Ontario & after I complement my wife her on her new do, I always ask her if she tipped the hairdresser; I know she does, but I want to encourage this as my mom was also a single mother when she owned & operated THE shop & employed several people providing an essential service, counselling agency and a news hub well before the advent of the internet. I grew up knowing the best professional hairdressing services, equipment & chemicals & the fact that my mom was tested once per year to be sure she was TB free & that the best hairbrush was a GiGi, same name as our recalcitrant dog. As a follically challenged male I’m still able to colour hair & as a chemical engineer I can spot a bad dye job 1.6 km away & could offer advice to correct, but don’t as I’ve never been asked — dye your hair when it’s dirty. My only misgiving is that I never pursued a role in hairdressing chemical production when I was at Dow Chemical. I use any bar of soap to wash the top, I don’t care if it’s scented or not, and spend $20 every 2-3 months to get it cut, which includes a 40%+ tip. When you decide on which hair replacement system to buy you consider factors like ---The material, color, texture and size but little do you know that these are not the only factors to look up to. Most of you must have heard about single knots double knots and v-loop knots, but do you know the difference between them? Some of you may not so we are going to discuss it here. Single knots Single knots are common because they're hard to spot. The strands of hair are knotted and tied into the hair system usually around the hairline. Single knots are invisible and give a more natural appearance. With single knots, the hair can be very flat. Single knots look natural, but more easily loosen than double knots. As a result, single knot hair systems are less durable than double knot hair systems. Therefore they are more prone to shedding. Single knots are simply more fragile than double knots Double Knots Double knots are a bit more durable than single knots. They work well with heavy hair density. In double knot hair systems, two or three strands of hair are attached to the double knots. They are much more durable and there's less shedding in comparison to single knot hair system. Double knots are less natural looking as they're larger and more visible. If your hair system is knotted with double knots, just try to keep people from looking at it too closely. The V-loop knots V-loop is the best kind of ventilation method that does not come with knots, V-loop has the magical power to make hair look like they are growing right from the scalp, and V-loop is used in front of the hair system to create a natural hairline. Also, do not go with a full hair system with a V loop as it is more common to shedding because it does not have a grip (knot) to the base of the hair system.
