Co working spaces are evolving! I’ve tried a lot of them but always found the same experience. Coffee and snacks are great but there was no collaboration, networking, or fun conversations. People showed up but everyone just put on their headphones and sat quietly. I went from feeling isolated at home to feeling isolated in a public environment. The USA Olympic basketball teams demonstrate what the make up of a high functioning work team looks like. A group of individual contributors who are really good at what they do, without too much overlap. A selflessness to help elevate each other, but ready to execute when called upon. A leader that can take the blame for the team, while finding ways to help the team execute more efficiently. Time to develop as a team and a trust in the process to get there.

Prior to Bravura, I had 6-7 different companies which all had success in their own way, but none were largely successful and in many cases ended in complete failure. After each failure I would learn how to come back bigger and better, however, never did I think that I could reach the heights that my partner jace cunnane and I have reached. So, after a year of being in business I wanted to take some time to reflect on some things I’ve learned along the way. Networking is the key to success in any industry, and I’ve found that the utilization of old and new connections is a large part of our success at Bravura. Fostering new and unique relationships, especially with those who are like-minded, helps lay down the stepping stones towards success. Resource management is also vital for any business, whether that be how you allocate your funds, utilize your assets, or manage manpower, all are so important towards longevity. Allocating funds properly is much easier in the beginning, however at scale you run into issues like overspending which I had never imagined to ever be an issue. Manpower management and being able to properly manage your employees is another skill that does not come overnight. Being able to properly manage your relationships whilst maintaining success can prove to be a difficult task, but this task’s success is vital for the growth of the overall business. Finding people to outsource to and training people to do your job is part of the beauty of starting your own business. Being a good leader and teacher is important in this regard, lack of this gives your business a lower ceiling thus holding you back from your business’s full potential. Finally, after being in the social media space for almost a decade, I’ve come to realize the sheer power of media. Your life can be changed overnight by just one post. That being said, I am so thankful to be given the opportunity and the ability to master social media. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for our journey towards success here at Bravura.
Two months ago, we hit our companies one year mark of being in business. A month after that, we hit our goal of one million dollars in sales! A small achievement in our eyes as we are aiming to 3x our sales before our two year mark, but still something to celebrate nonetheless. Congratulations team!

Sometimes, letting the engineering team speak to the real problems can motivate the client towards real solutions. This whole notion of sales teams and engineering teams not being on the same page is a problem that I continually have to solve for companies, when brought in to handle "system issues". Sales teams provide feedback for engineers on the customer experience, and defines the fiscal opportunity/risk. Engineering teams provide insights to sales on design decisions, scheduling, known solutions, and should be the metric for a businesses productivity levels. It's very common for sales and engineering teams to not be on the same page, and the worst part of it is the number of companies who are okay keeping these skeletons in the closet - because who wants to take responsibility for the problem when it's you? #engineeringproblems #technicaldebt #brokencode #spaghetti #cicd #mismanagement #guidelines #regulations #procedures #mobileapp #softwaredeveloper

💥 Looking forward to an epic later . 📺 I’ve really enjoyed this tournament, watched most games & it’s reminded me a lot about what you need to do for your team to succeed : ⚽️ There is no ‘one size fits all ‘ in modern teamwork , where research ( knowing todays opponents & field of play ) adaptability, dynamic problem solving & communication is key . ⚽️ Having the right skillset in the right role to get the best from them & if this isn’t possible, taking remedial action to support those ‘out of position’ ⚽️ The team has ‘starters & finishers’ - the people who come on through the game, can change the dynamic & inject motivation, energy & opportunity for the wider team ⚽️ It’s not how you start that matters, it’s how you finish.
