Is PR shedding its bad reputation for employee wellbeing? “As an industry, PR does indeed have a historic reputation of poor employee wellbeing,” says employee wellbeing consultant Steve Herbert. He says this is likely down to the “always on, 24/7 demands of the job” combined with sudden, high-pressure situations that can arise at short notice. One thing I have noticed building up a business in this space in Thailand is that in what might be called "emerging markets" for PR, talent attraction and retention is a steeper hill to climb than in markets where the value of PR is established and pretty much every business has some iteration of a PR/external comms/branding team. What certainly doesn't help is the industry's reputation for poor employee wellbeing, satisfaction and retention. PR Moment recently deep-dived into this issue - I would love to hear your thoughts. #PR #employeewellbeing #mentalhealth

Do your employees know about your employee wellbeing programmes? Gartner’s 2020 Well-Being Benchmarking Survey found that almost all organizations (96%) offered mental well-being programs, while Gartner’s 2020 Well-Being Employee Survey revealed that less than half of employees (42%) thought their organizations offered them. ▶️ So, how many of your employees are actually aware of your employee wellbeing initiatives? Even if you think you have been promoted on enough platforms, do a poll and try to test how many of your employees actually know about your programmes. You'll might get surprised by what you are going to find out. And if you will, try to do everything you can to increase awareness. 🙌 Let me know what you think in the comments!
