I’m almost a little anal about it, but you have to be—especially at this level.” -Barry Zito One of our core values at Pro Athlete is to ‘Build a Systems Dependent Company,’ emphasizing our commitment to teamwork and supporting our employees by creating reliable systems that drive efficiency and innovation.

I’m reading the book “The E-Myth: Revisited” after hearing about it from the ProAthlete site—this “systems-dependent” concept is central to the book’s thesis: “Great businesses are not built by extraordinary people…but by ordinary people doing extraordinary things. But for ordinary people to do extraordinary things, a system—a ‘way of doing things’—is absolutely essential.” (pg 101) Innovation is a powerful concept, but, if you’re reinventing the wheel on every single task, you lose the time and mental bandwidth to drive real growth in other areas. When your system allows 9 out of 10 deliverables to run easily, it’s easier to be energetic and focused on that 10th deliverable that needs to be redesigned/rewritten/rethought. Props to ProAthlete for their commitment to growth through a systems-dependent approach!

One of the two best company cultures I've had the pleasure to work with ... great place to work because of the people from bottom to top. Z
